Decent Widget
Our home is in the Phoenix, AZ area and we experience Haboobs (dust storms). Our new pool was completed on July 1, 2023. The pool has an in floor popup cleaning system. While this sytem works well, it is incapable of removing the fine particles mainly because the finer particles get stuck in the low areas between the pebbles of the Pebble Tec flooring. The only way to remove the dust is to sweep the pool multiple times while the pool is running until you've stirred enough stuff up that it eventually gets sucked into the pool's filter system. On that note, I purchased this vacuum to see if I can reduce the amount of time needed to remove the dust from the pool after a Haboob. I also purchased, on the reviews of other's, the ultra fine filter liners. Firstly, the vacuum is simple to use. Honestly for me, the most difficult thing to on this product is plugging in the charger. It is oddly shaped and is a bit awkaward to get positively engagaed. The amount of suction created by the vacuum is enough to where the vaccum will stay engaged on the vertical walls. My pool/spa combo is ~15K gallons, and the battery lasted easily for its debut run while I didn't notice any reduction in power for the roughly 15 minutes it ran.First impressions. I was shocked by the amount of debris that was captured in the filter bag. I didn't even try to clean the fine filter liner bag. Five came in the package so I just pitched this one. The vacuum's filters did a good job at trapping at what I would condsider >90% of the silt. As some reviews commented you can see the ultra fine silt being blown back into the water, but the amount removed versus the amount bypassed is heavily weighed on the removed side making the total efficiency worth it.Longevity is an unknown at this point in time. I did have an issue with a rectangular piece of plastic that resides in the "foot" of the vacuum popping out and being captured in the filter bag. I am not sure what its purpose is, but probably not going to do anything in the grand scheme of things. I see the "foot" as being a consumable, but there is no part# listed in the manual, which, could make this a pita at a later date. Also, the main filter needs to be cleaned after use. In my case the fine filter bag liner took the abuse. The main filter was easily cleaned with the spray feature in the kitchen sink.In the end, this vacuum will easily reduce the time needed to remove the junk blown into the pool post a Haboob. My first impressions are positive and at this point in time I would recommend this widget.

Impressive
I’ve used this for an entire season with impressive results. Very powerful and easy to use. Great performance and reliability for the price. Struggles with big leaves and larger pebbles but sucks everything else up! Saves my sand filter, much less backwashing needed. I found that you have to periodically lightly sand the connections on the plug to the recharger, otherwise it will just show the green light when you plug it in and not switch to charging. For the money, this has been a great purchase. I’ll update after next season use.

Very convenient, with limitations. Also, get a better filter bag.
I really like this pool vac. It is powerful and so much more convenient than hauling out the giant hose to connect to the pool filter. But, this vac does have it's limitations. First, the filter capacity is fairly small. Don't expect to vacuum up lots of leaves without emptying the filter frequently. I'd estimate that after about 20 leaves the suction drops enough that I have to empty the filter. So, for lots of leaves i still use a leaf rake. So many of the reviews mentioned corrosion in the battery compartment as a reason this vac stopped working that I took the advice of another reviewer and sprayed the contacts with CorrosionX Corrosion Technologies 90104 Heavy Duty 12 oz. aerosol. This required opening the motor housing, which was fairly simple, but I imagine voids the warranty. However, do NOT spray the corrosion preventer inside the motor as that reviewer suggested. I unfortunately did this and my motor stopped working after about 5 minutes. I cleaned out the motor with contact cleaner and it started up right away. One other thing I did to improve the life of the vac was to run a bead of gasket sealant around the gasket before replacing the motor housing cover (just like you might do in certain spots on your automotive valve cover gasket). So far, no problems. The battery life is pretty good and allows me to vacuum up the small debris in my 24' above ground pool three or four times between recharging. The recharging cord never feels like it "snaps" in when connecting it, but just don't force it and watch the little light on the charger to see if it starts blinking red. Then you'll know that it is charging. Lastly, the filter bag that comes with the vac (the "Extreme Multi-Layer Filter Bag") is almost useless except for large debris. If you want to vacuum up the small/fine particles, you'll need to buy a better one. I bought the "Sand & Silt Filter Bag" which was a big improvement, but to really get the finest debris out of my pool, I add a "Micro Filter Bag" as a liner inside the Sand & Silt filter bag. This combination works great!

Works Great, Charger is a PITA
This does hold a good charge and it really does help to keep our pool cleaner. I use it 2-3 times each week and have been using it steadily since purchased late 2023. I have a 16x32 pool and usually use it twice before recharging. It does have good suction. The only thing that escapes is some very fine mud, but I do believe it captures more than it loses. I just replaced the original filter bag that came with it. The ones I found on Amazon do not fit as advertised, so I had to go to the manufacturer's website for an OEM replacement. After rinsing it out so many times, the filter media eventually breaks down and starts to get thin spots in it. My only knock on this is the charger plug. You have to wiggle it several times to find the sweet spot so the light changes from green to red and recharges. Based on other reviews, I hope this is improved for future models if not already. Great vacuum though overall. It works and makes pool maintenance quick and easy.
