UPANBIKE Mountain Bike Chainring Guard 104 BCD Aluminum Alloy Chain Ring Protector Cover for 32~34T 36~38T 40~42T Chainring Sprockets
S**.
Fine to protect legs from grease/dirt. NOT fine to protect sprockets if you fall off a lot !
This does exactly what I bought it to do, keep clothing clean.I never use the 48 tooth outer sprocket of my 3 ring crank so I removed it and replaced it with the 40/42 tooth cover. Plenty of clearance around my 38 tooth 'middle' ring. I chose blue to match the bike, it is a beautiful dark blue metalic finish, darker than shown in the photos. The fixings supplied were poor quality, the 6mm allen key just ran around the inside of one of them. No, problem for me, I reused the original fixings. As observed in a previous review this is simply a 2mm flat plate. If you need more serious protection for your front gears find a sturdier product designed to withstand impact.

40-42t is not good for 42t, need a size up but they haven't
My bicycle is a folding road bike and have a chainring of 42t. Unfortunately, this guard just has the same diameter of the chainring. It can't really serve the protective function it should have. However, it has a quite nice look.. and that's all.

Should have better mounting hardware included
This is an ok product.Good: it's metal, it's shiny. It looks like bling on a bike which is why you are even interested. If you prioritise form over function on this part, this is a fine choice.Less good: attachment is poorly throught through. You get 4 pairs of 2 items. One for each hole. That is a large, internally threaded tube with a lip, and a smaller, externally threaded tube, with a lip. What you don't get are bolts or washers, which is a shame, as I don't see any configuration of these parts that mean you can attach the product to the chain ring, at the correct space away from it, without supplying your own nuts, bolts and washers. Conclusion: I'm using it on my bike, but not without some bodging.

2mm THICK Flat Plate !
As described I ordered it for my 38 Tooth outer Chain ring and it fits on the 104 BCD although I used the slightly longer screws/bolts supplied !In use it is about 1mm above the top or 2mm Diameter larger than my chainring with chain in cog so acts as I wanted and is clear of the Front Derailleur . . . First ride without the old Bike clips . . . Yes trousers got a bit oily but nothing like they would have done and no snagging !Most important and what's missing is that it is a 2mm THICK FLAT Round PLATE !So if you hit it and bend it . . . Don't ride into Trees or Rocks ! ! !

Perfect for certain uses
First up it's not a bash ring it's about 1.5mm thick. I got this to protect my trousers on my work bike and it's perfect for that. I would recommend, if you can, to buy the next size up from your chain ring. I have 36T and I purchased the 42T, as others say I doubt the matched size would cover much of the chain at all.

Good quality and fit
Easy to fit and has served the purpose we got it for - keeping an oily chain off the legs/clothing. Not too heavy but feels decent quality.

Meh - poor quality/design
Does the job, kinda. It's not only SUPER thin (maybe 1.5-2mm), but you can also see the edges of the crank 'shelf' (?) behind the guard. If you're doing technical/MTB stuff, it's not gonna protect your chainring at all if you bottom out hard.Pros - since it's super thin aluminium, it's VERY light: if you're more after something to stop your trousers getting caught, this would work fine for that.
