BELLSidetrack Child & Youth Bike Helmet

Helmet looks great but IT is not MIPS extra protection. Bought this cause of MIPS in description, received and this not as described. No yellow sticker saying MIPS and looks just regular helmet. Returning product and ordering from different seller to get correct product! We do actual mountain bike riding in the sierras and my son could get seriously injured! Very dangerous and completely irresponsible of this seller to advertise as such. Buyer beware!

Got this to take the kiddo on little bike rides around the neighborhood. I was worried she'd not want to wear it for any number of toddler reasons.She has no problem with it at all - there's a lot of room to adjust the fit, so it fits her well, doesn't seem uncomfortable at all, and is quite lightweight.Single favorite feature (besides how it will protect that amazing little brain in there) is the PinchGuard buckle. Seriously, what a simple idea - one of those design details that just gives you a moment of "wow, I can't believe nobody had thought of this before, but how wonderful that someone finally did."

It is advertised as a MIPS helmet, but what I received is a regular bicycle helmet without MIPS. This is falsely advertised! Buyer beware!

Bought the helmet for a kid bicycling. I was looking for good coverage all around, and especially at the back of the head. The helmet provides that, in addition to good ventilation and the visor. The only caveat is that you have to work a bit to properly tighten the strap for smaller kids. Bell seems to have provided straps long enough for adults, even though this helmet is not designed for them. As a result, you end up with really long overhangs. You can wrap them up, but it still allowed a lot of wiggle room initially, so just pay attention to that when setting it up for your kid.

My 3-year-old son hasn’t fallen off his bike while wearing this helmet, but he did fall hard while running in our driveway, luckily still wearing it. He would have smashed his forehead, but instead the helmet hit the pavement and the front visor part snapped off (we were able to put it back on). He was scared but not hurt one bit. Grateful for this helmet.

Very cute, my daughter loves it. I bought the same helmet at a local bike store and loved it so I ordered another one online to save money. This one is similar in appearance but lower quality with cheaper feeling plastic parts and less padding. Both this and the previous purchase have a wide range of size head that they will fit so good for kids of various ages to use.

Great looking helmet. My 5yo son loves it. Only complaint is the clip on the chin strap is difficult for a child to use. It looks like they added a guard on it to avoid pinching the skin under the neck. Great feature, but I have to help him put it on. Im sure he’ll figure it out soon. Other than that, very happy with the purchase.

We love everything about this helmet, EXCEPT that the buckle is really difficult for my son to fasten himself. He's almost 9 and has been self-buckling for years, but on this helmet the straps and other strap hardware get in the way due to the shape of the safety buckle (it has a guard to keep from pinching skin). I'm constantly having to help him or adjust the straps so he can do it himself. It's annoying enough that I'd avoid buying it again, but not worth sending it back and trying our luck with a different helmet.
