Wow, this thing looks great. I was hoping it would give the Switch a bit of that classic look... Like the Atari 2600 and alarm clocks from the '80s. And it did! Looks as good in person as it does in the picture. Installation was a breeze and I really appreciate that they give you philips screws to replace the tris that the original panel is fastened with.Now, as long as the colors don't fade or wear off, I'll be very satisfied.Update:The finish has held up flawlessly so far so I've gone ahead and ordered the wood-style joycon with D-pad and I'm just as happy with them as I am with the backplate. The thicker, concave D-pad feels wonderful and the wood grain looks fantastic and even matches up with the pattern on the backplate.

So - I was torn with my review. I love the look and feel - don't know anyone else who has a Switch that looks like it's made out of wood...?? That's straight-up ball'n yo! However...…. The install is a pain in the arsenal! There are like 5 different size screws in this thing - with 2 different types of screw-head. WHY???? It is redonkulous! Plus, the screws are so freakin tiny - you need to have little girl hands to grip the screw drivers and eagle-vision to see which screw is which. Not easy to work with this silly hardware. Of course, I eventually got it all completed, but not without stripping one of the screws (sooooo easy for that to happen - beware.) BUT - when all was said and done, it fits well, and looks great - so I gots me a sweet system yo....! :-D

I got this because it matched the side rail protectors/kickstand I got from a kickstarter a while back and I love it. It loks great, and the soft touch coating feels like velvet or something. Included instructions were pretty straightforward, the only tricky part is getting the little vent grille to line up right. Other than that pretty simple and the included screwdrivers are a nice touch.Only thing is the included screws are definitely not up to the same quality as the stock Nintendo ones. They strip and deform extremely easily, just reuse the original screws if at all possible. Only use them as a last resort.

This looks beautiful, and easy to install.The machined screw driver it came with felt really good, but I had a hard time using it. Thankfully I had another Y point screwdriver.

Backplate are easy to install. These ones are very nice quality. Be advised that the y driver included with the kit is the wrong size. You need a size "00" y driver to avoid stripping your screw heads. But those aren't very expensive. You'll need it for the joycons as well.

Looked and felt nice. Easy to install if you know what you are doing. Kickstand had some issues when installing but was able to figure it out.

Looks good, and feels great! The main downside I had were the tools that came with are not very good, and a lot of the holes didn't really line up which was pretty frustrating. Managed to get it on, and looking good

Easy to swap, just take your time and look up a video.Remember to water your switch daily to keep the wood growing, it will then begin flowering beautiful blossoms in the spring.
