So good.
The Bose QC3 are a fantastic pair of head phones. I purchased a used pair because the price for new was a bit high but got lucky with an honest used seller on Amazon with a pair in virtually new condition.PROS:+ Sound. Good highs, good base. Everything sounds fresh and balanced.+ Temperature. I know, sounds odd- but the fact is if you are wearing headphones for a long period of time they trap your ears and they get uncomfortably warm. The way these are that doesn't seem to happen. They stay nice and cool.+ Noise Canceling. What else is there to say? It just works. Saves your ears in the long run and makes it easy to relax.+ Comfort. Overall, more comfortable than other on-ear headphones. That being said with any on-ear I find they can push a bit on the cartilage in the ear which can be unpleasant for long durations. IE, 9-5 work. Still these are superior in comfort to other on-ears.CONS- Price. Very high for a new model. Discouragingly high. Though to be fair, I still would have gotten a new pair if I couldn't find a used for less like I did.- Battery. The batter life is great- the problem isn't the battery itself, it's that you for them to work at all, the battery must be on. There is no option to turn off the noise-canceling so the Q3C can run without battery power. That's a bit aggravating especially if I want to listen to music without noise-canceling (such as work where I only want to pay half attention) or if I want to conserve energy.Anyway, still a solid product and I'm very happy with it. As others have said, life-saver on airplanes.

Pure quality with great sound and comfort of wearing these head phones.
The QC3 Bose noise cancellation head phones were a gift back in 2013. And never had a issue or problem with them until the padding around the ear portion started to chaff and peel.Happened to be at the Mall of America and notice an (BOSE) store and stopped in to inquire about replacement ear pads. The sales person took a look and went on about trying to find out on their web-site if anything was available. With them being old and dis-continued from production. Please keep in mind that she referenced several times how well I had taken care of my head phones. Offered to take them in on a replacement program of $100.00 Basically defective replacement credit. For the newer modal of BOSE noise cancelling series 700. Now the cost for these were $399.99 They are wire-less and blue tooth. Cover the entire ear. Great sounding tap the right side to answer calls or control the three different levels of noise cancellation. I have nothing bad or derogatory to say about these BOSE products. What I will say or share is this. I did not need to trade/replace my original QC3 head phones had I did my own research in regards to the replacement ear pads first. I know I would not be doing this review. Because Amazon of all places carried them at the cost of $10.00 dollars with free shipping. The moral of this review is this. I allowed myself to be indulged to thinking that my QC3 wonderful sounding head phones. Were not worthy of resisting one's soul purpose of replacing them with the newest and better model. Please keep in mind that after all was said and done got back home to Ohio. Started to search out of curiosity for those replacement ear pads for my previously owned QC3 BOSE head phones. Lord and behold found a pair of the exact ones given up. Slightly/gently used like new and wasted no time in purchasing then. Now I feel complete and comfortable having back what I shouldn't have gotten rid of.

Great headphones
These really are the best headphones. They are comfortable and sound is excellent. It blocks airline and much of the other outside noise through noise canceling without putting much pressure on your eardrums. I prefer the custom battery vice AAAs, so this is a nicer product. Case is ok, it provides protection but is a bit awkward to carrry. The soft phone lays over the ears and not around, so you do get some ambient sound. However for me that is a plus. The iPhone attachment works great. I have been able to hear calls with clarity that I would not be able if I was just on the iphone. The noise cancelation applies only to headphones and not the mic.The only real downside is the expense; it is possible to pick up a cheap spare battery from off brands on amazon. Which is nice to ensure uninterupted listening. I have used on several transatlantic / pacific flights without problems with battery life. Although I do not listen / watch movies the whole time.

If it stop working, you have to BUY A NEW ONE
I've bought this headphone on March 2014 and I was amazed how good it was. The sound quality was amazing. About 15-20 days ago the right ear stopped working. I've entered on Bose Troubleshoting, made some tests and it kept not working. I've contact them to talk about warranty, repair, etc. They've sent me To a local Technical Assistance and they told me they didn't repair, and That I should buy another one. I'm VERY DISSPPOINTED with Bose, because a $350 head phone that stop working in a year and a half isn't that good. And I got one foot behind with this phone since I received it open (I also contact Amazon right when I received it, telling the deception of buying a headphone with this price to receive it open).

Love QuietComfort 3s!
I love love love these! I was torn between buying the bigger pair, the QuietComfort 15, like my husband has, but I am so pleased I didn't. These fit my head better, although the top part is still too tall to touch my head while wearing the ear parts. I love that all I have to do is plug in the rechargeable battery for an hour or two the night before a flight. They have lasted plenty long for our domestic flights as well as to the Caribbean. Comfy and not too bulky or heavy like the 15s. I travel in comfort! Not to mention the iPod/iPhone cord works really well and is very handy.
