The 16 inch width probably does not need to be built out of such thick wood like the standard 16. **Q: how much warp can be put on this loom?** A: Most of the scarves that I weave are 60 inches in length. To allow for fringe and waste I normally warp 87 inches. So I know it can at least hold that amount, but I'm sure I could warp 100 inches with no problem. Hope that helps. **Q: 4 shaft minimum?** A: A rigid heddle doesn’t have any shafts. For that you need a table or floor loom. That being said, rigid heddles are easy to use and quite versatile.
