Handy - Recommended
This was a replacement for one I have had for 10 years. I was afraid that it would be different from the original because everyone seems to try to improve upon a good thing. Fortunately it was exactly the same! The old one still works but it won't hold much of a charge anymore so I went ahead and got a new one. I have a two person household and most recipes are for four or more so I freeze the leftovers to have another time. It keeps the food from becoming freezer burnt wonderfully, and works on bread without squeezing it to much because you control how long to suction.I don't do much bulk buying, I think the most I have used it was 10 bags at one sitting. I have no doubt that it would be able to do many more than that though you may have to keep it plugged in which isn't a problem if you start with it charged initially. My only complaint is you have to have a flat surface to suction from and when I am doing soup if you lay the bag flat of course the liquid is going to be everywhere in the bag so you can't suction. I've fixed this by putting the bag in a drawer and putting just the vacuum port on the counter. I do reuse my bags. I turn them inside out give them a good scrub then put them in the dishwasher on the top rack, no heat drying. I can get a good 3-4 uses out of each one before it stops holding a seal.I would recommend this product, 10+ years of use and satisfaction is hard to come by these days. :o)

This thing Sucks!
FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer FSFRSH0051-P00 FreshSaver Handheld Rechargeable Sealing System, White:I make a lot of soups and stews every week and dump them into pint Mason jars. It's the perfect size for lunch. Also juice. I make a lot of juice and with this device, I pour it into pint Mason jars and with the vacuum, it lasts in the fridge at least all week! I love the little hiss when I pry the top up. It hardly takes anything to use and it's helping me save money on food. Can't beat that!

Really like this.
My jar vacuum on my large Foodsaver stopped working. Everything else is still working and I am not ready to replace the whole thing. This was a good alternative for me. It works very well once you get the hang of it. Only problem I have is it charges slow and the charge doesn't last for a very long time. Other than that, it is perfect. I have heard the smaller one is quieter and the charge last longer. Maybe I will buy it as well to use along with this one when I have a lot to seal.

Unbelievable
I love the Freshsaver. I ordered this one to replace my old one which was dying a slow death. This particular package was the best value since I also needed to order additional bags. I also have a large Foodsaver which I use on occasion, but I use my Freshsaver on a daily basis. I have kept strawberries fresh for 2 weeks in a bag, and although they do get a little squished this to me is far better than having them begin to go bad in days. I have kept many fruits and vegetables for 3-4 weeks using this Freshsaver that otherwise would have gone bad in a week. I have a Paw-Paw grove and the fruits, once ripe, begin to deteriorate within days. I had placed some in a bag last year since I planned on making jam with them and needed a few more to be ripe before I made it. I forgot they were in the fridge, and was totally shocked when 3 weeks later I took them out and they were still as fresh as the day I had picked them. The only caution I would share is that if you put broccoli or cauliflower in a bag to keep it fresh, your entire kitchen will smell like the vegetable as soon as you open the bag...but the veggies will be fresh. I bag all produce in my Freshsaver Bags, can't imagine life without one at this point

small and compact and easy to handle
This small and compact unit works great. I used it right away as soon as i opened the container it came. Works great to seal cheese blocks and lunch meats. I find the Easy Saver bags especially the one gallon size works better then the quart size in keeping a longer seal.

Save money.
I love using this food saver. It is so easy to keep all foods fresh for really long periods. The bags can be pricey, but I can reuse the bags as needed. It works very well. Save money by keeping meats fresh after freezing. Actually all types of food.

Decent but overpriced
First one I bought was for the intended purpose. Found it at walmart, used it a few times and it was good at sucking the air out of freezer bags.Later on I discovered it worked great as a home made milk machine for a goat. The only issue is the button is hit or miss when you try to turn it on. even when pressing firmly it will turn on and off.At one point I lost the little seal at the base of the ...sucker?I bought a new one(which was when I discovered the price had doubled.) The new machine has the same issue. intermittent on and off even after minimal use. Thankfully I found the seal for the old one and have this one as back-up.Other than the button, it still does a decent job for either purpose. I just don't want to have to buy another one because yikes! It's NOT worth fifty bucks.

This product works great and saves you a ton of money
This product works great and saves you a ton of money. Seals food airtight without the expense or storage requirements of larger sealing systems. I love their bags also. Freeze shredded cheese in quart size and move to fridge when low on cheese. Continue to seal bag after each use. Cheese lasts until eaten without fail!
