Worked for one cat. Not the other.
This tape worked very well with our 6 month old cat to keep her from scratching on the upholstered kitchen chairs. I had it on the chairs for a month or so before removing (she lost interest and they were getting covered with dog hair/dust-it’s very sticky!) and then reapplied whenever she decided to make them her personal scratching posts again. Fast forward 1 year later and we just adopted a 15 week old kitten. He likes to EAT the tape. I tried spraying bitter apple spray on the tape and he seemed to think it was a good marinade. The tape is thinner than I thought and he could rip little pieces off. After digging pieces of tape out of his mouth a few times, it’s no longer worth the choking hazard to save our chairs. BUT the tape does work beautifully to prevent them both from getting on top of our fish tanks to go fishing. Because it sticks very well to the smooth plastic surface, there is no way for the younger kitten to pull up an edge and start chewing. For the price though, definitely worth trying this to see if your furniture can be saved. Just under supervision until you know if your cat thinks it’s fun to eat it.

Be careful, too sticky!
This tape is really sticky, more so than other brands I've tried. It almost ruined my 3 piece velour sofa .I tried pulling off some of the pieces and it was very difficult to try to remove. It actually pulled up the fibers so it looked like it was snagged. I was very upset as the sectional is very expensive. My husband suggested using a hair dryer to soften the glue and I tried it but I had to pull the tape off VERY SLOWLY while the heat from the hair dryer softened the glue. I haven't removed all the tape yet, but I will not buy this brand of cat tape again just because it's a couple of dollars cheaper. It may not cause the same problem with a different material of sofa but it's not worth taking the chance. Other brands I bought such as Sofistie-Cat, tape, were thicker tape and not as sticky.

really like this tape
I really like this tape. I wish I didn't need it, but you know...cats. I only gave 4 stars because the backing is sometimes hard to remove.

Doesn’t stick
Simply doesn’t stick well to my upholstery, so not effective. Also, require scissors to cut. It would be nice to have perforations.

DO NOT BUY
This tape stuck to everything and didn’t come off easily (or at all). It will ruin everything. From wood to tile to granite.

Works good
My cats stay off of areas I don't want them on.

This tape didn’t work.
I bought this tape after the tape I had been using for the past 4 years wasn’t available right away, so I thought I’d try something else. I’ll start with the positives: the roll of tape is huge! I knew it was 33 yards but still shocked me. I really liked the 4” width as well. Once it was delivered, I went to work taping the corners of my sectional, where the cats like to scratch (even though I have scratching posts right there to deter them from using the couch). The adhesion seemed great when putting it on the couch but if you barely touched it, it just peeled right off. I know it’s not the couch fabric, because the other scratch deterrent tape I had used for years never budged. Once I put it on, it didn’t move at all until you took it off.My biggest issue with this tape is that my cat, who is typically very calm, went berserk for this tape about 2 minutes after I had put it on. He was trying to lick it and would pull off the pieces that had started peeling off and tried to eat them. He doesn’t even react to catnip the way he did with this tape. While he wasn’t scratching the couch, trying to eat the tape isn’t a great alternative. I had to remove all of the pieces immediately - which was really disappointing. This was a waste of money - won’t be making that mistake again.

Unfortunately It Didn't Work for Us
I purchased this tape to mainly use it around our bed's base, which has fabric around it, however, it would initially stick but fall off in a few hours. Due to this, I personally cannot recommend it if you're trying to use it on fabric.Just as a note/tip, if you will be using this tape around an area where you/others may (accidentally) touch it or have other items touch it, you might want to keep only one side one adhered (which would show the white-side), but this does protect whatever it is you're trying to protect. This would be something to try, especially if the tape is not sticking super well on the item(s) you're protecting.I also used it on laminate flooring, and it does stick well to that, so can recommend this tape for laminate flooring.
