Nice improvement over an older model I was using
I bought this weather station in the summer of 2020 to replace an ancient La Crosse model WS-9020U-IT and I'm actually glad the old one failed. The S82950-INT is a major improvement. The backlit color display is nicely arranged and colored to make it easy to read. The initial setup was simple and the base unit picked up all three sensors quickly. Current conditions and the 12-hour forecasts both appear to be pretty accurate. The only thing I wish it had is an easy way to wall mount it. That said, because this model must be plugged into a wall outlet, there would be a cord dangling from the bottom so maybe sitting on a flat surface is by design.Update: I'm dropping one star in my overall rating. The outdoor temperature/humidity sensor eats batteries like there's no tommorow. I replace them in pairs using fresh, name brand alkalyne or lithium batteries. They last about three months at which time the low battery icon appears on the base station display. A short time thereafter that section of the display will shut down. I thought at first it was due to cold winter temperatures but I replaced the last set in mid-spring and here we are in mid summer and the low battery indicator is on again. And I don't think my luck is such that two different brands of new batteries all had defects. Batteries in the anemometer and moisture sensor are fine.Update: I contacted La Crosse support and explained the problem I was having with battery life in the remote sensor. Support said it was due to a defective sensor. They asked for my shipping address so they could send me a replacement. That's impressive service as the unit is currently a year and four months old. I'm reinstating a fifth star.Update: January 2023Batteries in the wind sensor finaly died after 2-1/2 years. Replaced them and the sensor came back online. Easy peasy!Update - July 2023After three years the base station flipped out. It spontaneously turned on alerts and started beeping 5-chirps every minute. I made several attempts to turn off the alarms to no avail. They kept turning themselves back on. It's also alerting me to high winds (69MPH) on a perfectly calm summer morning. Bummer! I just placed my order for a new one.

Setup took a long time but works really great once hooked up to Wifi
The con of this thing was getting it working on WIFI. I am not sure what the exact problem was, but I eventually got it connected. Things that are really nice are the sensors all work great and I have the wind sensor 180 feet from the house and about 18 feet lower than the house and it still picks it up well. The graphing of the temperatures I find really nice and useable using the smartphone app. The base display is really nice and readable, but does require AC. Overall the first month it has worked as promised. The only reason for the 4 star rating is the difficulty in getting it hooked up to WIFI.

UPDATE: Stopped working after two weeks!
I purchased the S82950 as a low cost remote engine room monitor, to keep an eye on my boat during winter months. I want to know if the engine room gets close to freezing and if water is present in the bilge. My marina provides WiFi , so an Internet connected solution was preferable to a cellular data options.La Crosse provides a free app for their WiFi connected systems, offering definable alert conditions. The S82950 includes a water/temp sensor, which can send alerts if water is detected at the sensor or if the temperature gets too cold. I have placed the combined temp/water sensor in the engine room, above a bilge pump, the weather station console is in the cabin. The water tanks are within a few feet of the sensor. I will get an alert if the water tanks are at risk of freezing or if water is entering the bilge and the pump has failed to keep up. As a remote monitor the S82950 does the job. I tested the App water sensor and temperature alerts, they arrive on my phone within seconds of a trigger event. As a primary weather station, the S82950 would not be my first choice. The display has problems. For example, the wind direction display shows E as C. It also forgets barometric pressure corrections when it losses power, despite having a battery to save settings. The App does not display barometric pressure. I thought I had set something up wrong as pressure is a very basic parameter. A call to La Crosse tech support confirmed this flaw/oversight. Pressure is only displayed as a number and trend arrow on the main display, no histogram for trend is available. The system does provide AccuWeather forecast information on the main display when Internet connected, with 3 user selectable additional fields. The list of possible field options is extensive, ranging from pollen count to sunrise / sunset and many more. This a very nice feature. For $70, it is a great remote bilge / engine room monitor.UPDATE: Stopped working after two weeks. All sensors are enclosed. Reset does not help. Will not connect to WiFi, Only outdoor sensor (which is indoors) works. Avoid this system!

Solid performer
I've been using my LaCrosse weather station for a couple of months now and I can say it is accurate and reliable and meets my expectations of the device. Set up was simple as was connecting it to my WIFI. I struggled a bit in the winter to place the anemometer in a good location, but that was due to snow and nothing to do with the design or build of the device. Now that spring is here, I was able to reposition the anemometer to avoid structures and trees and I feel that my wind readings are better than my temporary placement closer to my house.I recommend this device for those who are looking for a quick reference to outside conditions in their immediate yard area. The outdoor sensors have good range. My temperature/humidity sensor sits about 30 feet from the base unit and the anemometer is around 50 feet away. The base unit has no trouble picking up their signals. The basement water sensor sits in a low spot so if water were to get into the basement, it would be easy for it to detect. All in all, I'm pleased with this purchase and recommend it for people with similar needs to my own.
