The Great Controversy: Between Christ and His Angels, and Satan (Forgotten Books) Paperback – December 8, 2007

This book, The Great controversy by Forgotten Books (by Ellen G White)is a condensed version ( 130 pages) of her earlier books. It's a pretty good read and was a good starting book, but when I attained the original Great Controversy book by Ellen G White through Inspiration books which is 576 pages and much more in depth,I really got the entire perspective I needed. My advice is to search out anything Ellen G White has written, from Patriarchs and Prophets, Desire of Ages, Steps To Christ, Acts of the apostles, Christ object Lessons. These are all excellent reads and the older the book, or the earlier date you can find will be much greater in detail. It is my opinion that she was definately appointed with divine inspiration because you can back up everything she says by the Bible, in other words she does not try to be politically correct by watering down what the Bible actually says and means, as do so many authors and pastors today. She speaks the plain truth which needs to be told. She also opend my eyes to the true Sabbath and I will let you determine that yourself, it is eye opening. Study Colossians 2:8, the key words to me were "philosophy vain deceit and traditions of men" (KJV). Study this verse very carefully and your eyes will be opened like never before.Also, there is another book I would very strongly recommend " Foxe's book of Martyrs" by John Foxe. Published march 1563, this book is outstanding!

This is a great book, but you don't need to buy it. It can be downloaded for free online. Just do a search in Google for Great Controversy download. I should point out that this version was truncated by Ellen G. White herself. It is much shorter and more to the point than the original book. There is nothing that I found in this copy to address the difference between the versions. So I thought somebody else might have truncated it, and her great-grandson himself explained to me that it was Ellen G. White herself who altered the text for this more concise version of the book. So, this is a legitimate version of the book, that is meant to serve a different purpose, speak to a different audience, than the original text.

This is an excellent book I have read it twice already and each time I read it ,it just gets better. To understand why the Bible is so importantfor each person to know and study this book is a must. You will understand why everything in this world is happening and why. Sointeresting and challenging at the same time. If you love history and how history effects today's headlines this is an excellent read.

If this is still available, you won't be sorry if you get it.I wasn't too keen on the cover; however, had to remember the time in which it was published.This is not the watered down or newer version, it's as original as you can get. It reads to me as though it was one of the first copies following EG whites inspiration to write the book.I was able to purchase the actual paperback from Amazon and I'm glad that I did.

A must read! An inspired book! All should read this book and get to know the real battle going on in this earth over your soul.

Sounds life a fairy tale with lots of pagliarism. Read actual historical documents not this crap.
