Wow!! Great book and study!
Did this as a Bible study with some other ladies and it was so interesting. I love how easy it was to follow along.

Study Guide - a book is needed, or the film with a group helps with the study guide.
With the video and being in discussion in a group this book is fantastic. Just know they are needed to complete this. The other elements are so essential to this wonderful experience.

Good book on Audible
Kathy Gifford paints a picture with her words and I almost felt as if I was with her, seeing what she was.

Get yourself a RABBI!!!!
I LOVED this Bible Study!!!!!!!! I have been studying the Bible through OLD TESTAMENT and NEW TESTAMENT word studies for all of my Christian walk (30+ years), and doing Bible studies on the Feasts of Israel, the Tabernacle, the Altars, the Nicolaitans, Angels, Hospitality in scripture, etc. The best way to study the Bible is to read through it with a "theme" or a "topic" in mind. If God has given you His Holy Spirit, His word is truly is living and active and so much fun to study!!!! I love how all the Old Testaments point to a ciastic ring structure fulfillment in Jesus and in the New and in the AGE TO COME! If you want to know the word of God, the mysteries of the Bible, the richness of God's word, get yourself a Rabbi. Even with all these years of personal study, The Rock, Road, and Rabbi study taught me things I'd never heard before, and made me love Kathie Lee even more than I already did. This is a must have for any student of the Bible or the Torah!!!!!!!! God bless y'all for making it! Can't wait for what's next Kathie Lee. Blessings to you!!!!

Intriguing
I enjoy looking at the life of Christ through the eyes of those who lived in the Middle East. It opened my “Western eyes” to discrepancies that I’d wondered about plus gave me new insight on things I’d never considered. I wish the “Going Deeper” segment would’ve been a little longer - maybe 5 days rather than only 3

On my list of top bible studies
I have been participating/leading bible studies for over 20 years. I started this one in September with a small group of ladies and I am adding this one to my list of favorite bible studies. We worked through the study guide and also used the book to supplement information. We watched the videos which were available to use through our church at Right Now Media. Being taught by Rabbi Sobel to look at the passages with middle eastern eyes was "eye opening". I discovered so much rich information and had so many "light bulb moments" - even in scripture that I had studied before. I have told so many of my friends about this study and highly recommend it.

Theologicaly shallow
A dear friend sent us a copy of this book and before I finished reading it completely, I recommended it to someone else, in fact I even bought a copy for a friend. I repent! The author is a bit tiring, that is for sure, but there is no excuse for some of what was included in this work by others. The Rabbi should have known better than to say Jesus died on a Friday, page 59. He needs to study more carefully and read what Jesus said: But Jesus responded that the only sign He would give was that of the prophet Jonah: “For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth” (Matthew 12:40).Then this from her brother, the reverend David Epstein of the Calvary Baptist Church in the Babylon of America, New York City. Why she included this in her book on page 137 is difficult to understand, probably because he is her brother, but theologically speaking, he cannot see something right before his eyes that could indeed cause some to be deceived. While it is true that those who are truly redeemed and truly transformed, no power can take that salvation from them, but these greatly learned with their doctorates from the theological seminaries are refusing to read the very stern and poignant warnings where God says and Paul writes in his letter to the Hebrews 6:4: For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, and have tasted the good word of God, and the power of the world to come. If they shall fall away, to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame. This section of her travel guide nearly brings me to tears. If you are a seeker of the Most High, leave this book on the sale table. It isn't worth the agony of reading.

The difference in cultures and how it affects our ability to understand events is monumental.
I am very impressed with this book. It’s value is in the information that it teaches by interpreting Middle Eastern culture to people from a western culture which helps in understanding the Bible.
