Poured into a small paint tray and applied with a foam mini roller on the flats/ brush on the edges. The project took 5 coats in total but could have got away with 3. Allowed plenty of time to dry between coats. The sealer dried beautifully to a matt, coal black finish. Some residue left after drying which can be carefully wipped off with a semi damp cloth. Applied a No Nonsense Screwfix Sealer to lock colour in as a final coat. Very satisfied with the end result. Easy to use. Consistency of water - so use carefully with protection underneath. It will take a further 3 days to fully cure. **Q: My black quarry tiled wet room needs a new lease of life. Will this do it?** A: Only if the tiles are absorbent. Test porosity by leaving a teaspoon of water on the surface to see if it soaks in. **Q: Can I use this on granite?** A: Yes but as always make sure the granite is clean and thoroughly dry, then do a small test area first to make sure you are happy with the results **Q: I have used this product but the black is coming off on our feet ? How can we stop this ? Can we put a clear sealer on top or will it react ?** A: Blackstone Sealer & Restorer is an impregnating sealer for rejuvinating porous natural stones that have faded, so it needs to fully absorb into the pores of the stone. It is not a film forming coating. Removing any excess from the surface is included in the instructions. Before sealing a faded black stone it is important to prepare the surface thoroughly by cleaning using a strong alkali cleaner such as LTP Grimex. This conditions the stone removing any residues of dust and dirt from the pores and helps the stone to absorb more sealer. Removing the excess you currently have on your stone: First try mopping the surface of the stone with a little soapy water. This can be done with an ordinary mop and bucket. Leave to dry. Rub the surface with a towel to make sure it is colourfast. If this has not removed all excess. Second: Follow the instructions on the bottle and wash surfaces down with a dilute solution of LTP Power Stripper. If you have to re-apply any of the sealer following the clean up: Do not apply in direct sunlight. Do not apply when the surface of the stone is warm/hot. Check that the sealer has fully absorbed into the stone after 1 hour. Used this restorer and after 2 coats it came up as good as new! Be warned, this is a black stain so mask off anywhere you don’t want blackened! The liquid is very thin so if poured on the surface it will rapidly run over the surface. If the tiles have a rough finish like ours make sure you use a lint free cloth (which will get ruined!) or a paint brush.
