These Sewell Deadbolt Spade connectors have the best method for connection you speaker cables I've ever used.The process of connecting your cables is so simple, it's misleading. You simply cut back the insulation about 1 cm, pass the bare wire up through the black body of the plug, fold it down in 3 or 4 places around the circle, then push the other half of the plug on (the bit with the gold pin) to force the cable into the body of the plug and screw it up tight, No need for screwdrivers and it will take fairly thick cable.The only note of caution I would make is that the colour differentiation on the plug body isn't great, just consisting of a thin stripe of a dull, dark red, or black within a gold body. But that's a very minor niggle.I used these Spade connections at the speaker end for my Surround Channel (Canon S50s) as the wall bracket used doesn't allow for banana plugs and I didn't like the bare wire option I was using.If you need to use Spade connections for Loudspeakers, look no further.Peter G

Amazingly simple to install, and make a very secure connection. The connectors are quite chunky and give a clear impression of solidity. They fit perfectly on the post connectors of speakers (the ones in which you can usually insert a 4 mm banana jack or bare wire). Beware to use reasonably chunky multi-strand wire (I used 2.50 mm2 one, approx 13 AWG) as otherwise the wire might be quite loose inside and could break off if twisted around.

The connectors are of good construction but a little too thick.I bought them for my vintage speaker connections but found that they are just a bit too large - not the product's fault.

I ordered these spade plugs in the hope it would resolve the speaker wire constantly coming loose from my tannoy tfx satellite speakers which are currently all located in front of the TV until I get the chance to move the furniture and lift the carpet to move them to a more suitable location ie up high out of the reach of children (in a 7.1 position) which they fall victim to just now.As a matter of fact, the spade plugs I recieved are not those pictured but actually a higher quality spade and visually more attractive. The cable would have been more secure from a screw top style fitting and I'm confident the sound would have been great from the greater contact area.Unfortunately, due to the lack of room to accommodate the spades as a result of the sleek design and style of the tannoy tfx satellite speakers these are rendered useless to me so have no choice but to return them for a refund.I'm not going to reduce my review rating because they do not fit. That is my problem and not that of Sewell direct. I had contacted them to enquire about quantity per pack as it was not completely clear in the product description and they were quick to respond and clarify for me so as far as I am concerned they are great to deal with and having purchased their silverback banana plugs already was confident to purchase another Sewell direct product.
