How is this any different than the one with 45 more games and $5 cheaper? They look exactly the same.

This is the Sega produced reproduction console that will be released later this year.

For the past several years, the Sega Genesis has been produced by a company called ATGames in the US.  Up until now, the quality of these consoles has been very bad.

However, the newest reviews online say that the newest 2019 ATGames Genesis (the one with an SD card slot) is actually good quality.  So, it remains to be determined if this model will be better than the 2019 ATGames Genesis.  Also, many of the games which are included with the ATGames model are either Sega Master System games (an earlier sega console), or they are just some some shovelware filler games.

One thing about the 2019 ATGames genesis is that it will play actual Sega genesis cartridges, including carts special-chip carts like Virtua Racing.  The sega version does not appear to include a working cartridge slot.

If you are looking at a previous year's model of ATGames Genesis (<=2017), then don't bother.  these are complete garbage.

Apart from all this, If you want the best quality in new Sega Genesis clones, look to an FPGA based alternative such as the recently released Mega SG or the MISTer FPGA platform.
