EPOXY PUTTY STICK 4OZ

I first found this Oatey epoxy stick at Lowe’s, and have been a fan ever since. For some reason, the JB Weld equivalent didn’t work for me (just remained kinda soft, despite mixing equal amounts and allowing it to cure for a full day or so), but the Oatey putty has NEVER failed. It’s paintable, drillable, and more. Dries in minutes, so working time is short, but it’s just enough—don’t work with too much at a time, since you do have to knead the 2-part epoxy together. It’s very soft & pliable, but you wouldn’t want it to harden before you could work it into the shape & position you wanted. It also has quite a long shelf life. I must’ve had mine for about 4 or 5 years, though the packaging lists a much shorter shelf life—I did keep mine indoors, in my temp-controlled bedroom, so maybe that was a factor. You know how you’ve sometimes tried super glue and flexible adhesives (rubbery types), but they don’t help to affix an object? You can use this putty as that glue—it sticks well to various substrates (wood, plastic, metal & more), and you can build it up higher if you need more height. I have a kitchen step-trash can that doesn’t have any kind of overhang or built-in handle to grab the lid to open it (when you don’t wanna use the step)l so I adhered a fender washer to it with this putty, and it’s now attached SOLIDLY. It gets lifted up when opening the lid, and the other adhesives I’ve used haven’t worked in this application. The Oatey epoxy putty is very reasonably-priced & extremely versatile. I recommend that you read the paper insert to get excited about its MANY uses—I only recently did it, and had NO idea it wore so many hats! 😀 This multipack is a bargain, and you’ll wish you had multiple tubes on hans, so this 3-pk bundle is the one I’d recommend for you, unless you rarely work on fix-it or build it projects.

So happy I found this! Used it to patch leaks in my outdoor fountains. I can see many other uses for this great product. Working time was a bit quick but if you work fast it’s great and it sets up fast. I’m impatient and probably didn’t wait for the “full” cure time and my fountains are still holding strong several months later.

I purchased this for a friend who is a scuba diver and he also repairs swimming pools. He asked me to write this review for him. He has repaired swimming pools for many year and this compound is the best he has ever used. He can't say enough about working time and strength of the repairs

This is an incredible fix-it solution for a host of projects. It is water repellent, durable (it currently IS the joint holding a large umbrella stand together in my backyard) It can be molded to any shape and sets quickly. After curing it has no smell and can be sanded and painted. Three tubes will last a very long time for general repair and it stores well. I give it high marks and it is an essential item in my toolbox.

Used this for many years. works great but don't use if you trying to use under pressure. Read the rating for maximum pressure. Also you can use to make little arts and crafts things. I made a cool little baseball player's face.

Once mixed together, work quickly. It sets up "rock hard" in 1- 1 1/2 minutes Excellent strength. Very hard.

It is an ok product, but it's nothing to write home about. I tried to use to fill cracks in wood, and it isn't good for that. It sands ok but doesn't leave a very good surface to polish.
