not bad for $
These all use the same chipset in this price range $40-90. They generally work ok. You can hear this alarm unlike another brand i had to return. I like the ABC and a Pedometer which you cannot get on most of the ProTek Casios unless you opt for a smart watch version which is not that optimum for hiking etc. as it's more stuff to deal with. The compass is acurrate enough (not as good as the Casio) but works just fine after calibrating, and mine holds calibration. I've used it in shower with no leaking or fogging as has been reported. I think the guy who had trouble with water was probably pressing the watch buttons while under water, and most likely was subjecting it too temperature extremes as well. If mine finally fogs or leaks I will report it. The screen is plenty bright and the light works great. The band and size are very comforable and light, especially for being one of the larger sizes of watches. For the money this is a good general kick around watch that doesn't suffer from needing to connect to a phone for all the features. I also own a decent Protrek, but only use that for special hikes and trips, otherwise this watch is the goto that works well and keeps track of my steps/calories/distance and look pretty cool. If I loose it or something, I'm only out $36. So, basicly, I love it!

Good hiking watch. New brighter light. Compass worked for me.
I'm preparing for mountain backpacking. This "watch" is a miniaturized package of the sensors I need, running on a watch battery no charger needed. Using it takes practice, there are a lot of control and display points and only the small display and few buttons. So far I've mostly been using the pedometer; I calibrated my stride during one hike, and I've been matching GPS readings better than GPS readings are matching each other. I had to calibrate the temperature myself (which is crude), and I have to take it off or the warmth of my arm throws the reading way off. Using the altimeter is going to take some practice. My compass worked fine. And the night light is definitely not indiglo, but it is bright enough. Some of the symbols like the chime are difficult to see and identify without magnification.

Finally!
I really like that I don’t need to pair this with a phone to use any features.Easy to read display. Has been very durable and waterproof. The compass and altimeter have been accurate. The thermometer is useless because it’s on your body. Sometimes I take it off and hang it in my tent at night and that seems to be more accurate.I really love this watch. Works excellent. Very very worth the money.

Do not buy
Hard to set up, made of cheaper plastic, and was NOT rated to the water depth it said it was. Looks the same as in the picture but the backlight did nothing. Never got the temp or altitude to calibrate.

Good product, with a few flaws
Came quickly, we'll packaged. Manual is in 'Chinglish' and is rather complicated to understand. Biggest drawback for me is that watch has poor visibility, unless you constantly keep the light depressed, which will drain battery life badly. And the dial of the face is quite small and hard to read quickly, especially when you have to simultaneously depress the illumination key.

This watch does everything, I love the SKMEI brand!
This watch is amazing, this watch has so many features that I don't know where to start. This watch has all of the standard features that you would see in a watch such as: tells the time, week, day, date, year, ECT but there are other features such as dual time. This watch also is an activity tracker and as a result this watch has features such as: a step counter, displays calories burned, distance traveled, plus more features such as your elapsed time that you were active. This watch has smart watch features without using a remote device (cell phone), that's right! this watch does EVERYTHING locally, it doesn't need a remote device witch ultimately makes this watch smarter than a smart watch! The smart watch features are but not limited to: telling you the temperature (Fahrenheit or Celsius!), tells you how high or low you are from sea level (it even has a line graph too!), it tells you the air pressure and more! This watch even has a weather prediction feature, how handy is that! This watch is water resistant too! This watch does so much and SKMEI is an excellent brand, I have a few watches from this brand and they are high quality! In short, this is an excellent watch, I love it!

Moisture build up, display too dim
Out of box, watch looked sturdy and well built, but returned it. Watch was never in water but moisture built up under crystal face at altitude under sunny skies and at low altitude during stormy weather. I doubt this watch would hold up under water pressure at any depth if it can't withstand barometric pressure changes. Also as other buyers have stated, the digital display is way too dim to read especially indoors under low or medium light without using the backlight. You shouldn't need two hands to read a watch. Some of the pictures in the Amazon listing are misleading. The bright green color displays are actually taken when the backlight is on, not under normal light. Sorry. I really wanted to keep this watch for all the features.
