A very Stable and Well Built Small Tripod
This is an excellent tripod that weighs just under a pound and seems extremely stable when its legs are fully stretched out. It appears very well built and seems strong enough for most nonprofessional dSLR cameras. It is not as small as some portable tripods but seems sturdier. I bought it mainly for travel but found many other uses including for it.1. Macro work using macro instrument. It’s strong enough and stable enough for the camera support and camera.2. Binoculars or telescope if it has the tripod connection3. Flash stand4. Camera or camcorder of course. There may be better small tripods out there but this one seems like a good functional tripod at a very reasonable price. What I like about it.1. It has most of the functions you expect in a tripod.2. it’s extremely stable3. When stretched out fully the feet lay flat adding stability4. Weighs under a pound.5. Less than one foot long and less than 3 inches wide so it takes less space in your bag6. Very strong. Pushing down on dSLR with zoom lens attached, it doesn't give at all.7. Easy to setup and adjust8. Very reasonably pricedHere are a few disadvantages1. A little bulky, does take up more space than similar tripods2. Very limited height adjustment3. No tripod bag includedConsidering all the advantages and disadvantages this looks like a very good small tripod that should be great for travel and holding any camera from a subcompact camera to medium weight dSLR with zoom lens where there no room for a large or heavy tripod.

I especially like the rubber feet on the ends of the legs ...
For the price and the function of this item, I would definitely buy it again. It's got some weight to it, there are no jagged or parts that are going to hurt or pinch your hands while on-the-go and carrying around with you. I especially like the rubber feet on the ends of the legs because it stops the camera from going anywhere. I work in a performance automotive warehouse, where we are constantly filming cars coming in and out. A lot of the times, we use this so we don't have to get on the floor to get a shot. It even has a nice added bonus: the ability to raise and lower the center beam to get the height you want for your shot. The camera fits great (I'm using a Nikon D5100 + Tokina 12mm - 24mm lens) and is sturdy without further shake or additional looseness. Nothing hinders my ability to get a shot. The one and only thing I wish it had was the ability to extend the legs individually, even if only one/two inches of extension room. Often times, especially on the go, I can't find an even surface to put the tripod on, and the camera will have a slight tilt to it. Would be cool if I could extend one of the legs and make it level rather than throwing the weight off and leveling the shot by the head only.Either way, great product. Looks good, feels good, works well. I'd recommend it.

Nice, Compact, and sturdy
This is what I have been needing for a while since I started hitting the gun range. My spotting scope has a full-sized tripod that just seems to get in the way of my feet. and having to move it into place to check down range was just a pain at times.so I started looking for something compact. came across this one and from the description it was more of what I was looking for with a max height of slightly less than ten inches I knew it would work out got it mounted the scope and it was a perfect fit. no more hassle moving it around to check my shots. It holds the scope securely and the plastic parts are of a decent quality material. As the legs are short and metal my scope is not heavy it's 2.4lb the tripod has a max supporting weight of 5.5 lbs. I don't know about that, but it is well-built, and it just may hold its claims. Overall, I feel it's a good tripod I don't toss my items around in a pile and hope they don't get damaged. Everything has a place whenever I'm done using it so this item will be put back into my range bag and stored in a safe location away from falls and accidental kicks. I believe this will last a good long while with regular use. "Happy Shopping Guys"

Great value to anyone who wants a steady base and a compact design.
This product is exactly what I needed. It is small enough, when compacted, to fit in my bag with the spotting scope. The legs have extensions and are very suited for odd angles. I Thank You for an excellent product.

Wow-Very impressed!
I seldom get that excited over a device unless it's really awesome. I haven't seen the ones that are twice the price of this table top tripod, but I do know that this one really impresses me. I wanted something that would not tip over like those cheapy ones that always come with an item. When I took it out of the box, I felt like I had a solid tripod in hand and I did! It's very sturdy and the up and down pan, including the side to side pan work more smoothly that my floor tripod does. I am holding a triple mount on it at the moment that is VERY top heavy off to one side. I have a small camera but a heavy 5" field monitor that is mounted up high and way out to the side-I could not even get it to stand on any other tripod I had. This one holds it firm and secure. I am very happy!Build quality is also of interest to me and I think this Vanguard VS-82 Table Top Digital Tripod has great "build quality". I feel comfortable in recommending it to anyone who wants a secure and strong tripod for their table top. The price is nice too, but I would buy this regardless for I am just smitten over it. That's how well I think it's built!
