This is a good product, and relatively straightforward to install.It feels well made, and looks smart.It has three adjustments, the lens angle, light level to operate, and length of time for the light to stay on.Just wish it had a sensitivity adjustment as we’d prefer it not to operate every time a cat or hedgehog walked below it!

Edit March 2023: After 2.5 years the unit has stopped detecting motion. When you turn it on it keeps the lights on for however long the timer is set to, and then doesn't detect motion to keep them on. It still works fine in override mode. We will need to replace with a new unit. Once we get it down we'll probably just be able to swap the head as it detaches from the base. It seems like a circuitry failure rather than a full-on water ingress failure.Original Review May 2020: We added this to our outside lights so that we could have spot lights on either motion activated mode, or permanently on. Since this unit has an override function, we are able to leave our outside lights on motion activated mode 24/7, and when we need to, we can set them all to stay on until we turn them off. This works out much better than doing the motion activated handwave, like you're trying to get someone's attention in a crowded room manoeuvre. Will buy more when we have other "dumb" lights that need this feature.

Great quality will bye again

I bought this to replace another unit which had failed and like the added features of being able to set for a specific number of hours on after it gets dark and being able to adjust the Lux level to turn on. Really easy to install with everything you need in the box.

As another review says this is fiddly to fit. If you are fitting externally and using weather proof cabling it will be tight getting the cable in from underneath even before mounting the back plate. Once mounted there is not a lot of room for the cable to fit under the main box of the PIR itself. I fitted it indoors and even drilling through the frame it was mounted on, the wire was not easy to pull back. If you have never fitted one of these before the instructions are pretty vague. Do you know what “switched live” is ? Ive fitted several over the years but found the lake of clarity in the wiring instructions worrying. Ensure the colour code is followed is fine if you know how to common the neutral, feed the incoming live to the PIR, connect the switch to the load. OK so far ? Not even that is explained. I googled for instructions and found a whole welter on YouTube. Hunt down the one that is clearest for you. Be patient. Or get a sparks to fit it. I am a pretty seasoned DIYer who hasn’t burnt down to many houses with my own wiring tasks. Obviously the manufacturers want you to hire someone but it can be fitted by a dexterous, careful DIYer. Simple to fit, wire and adjust

I bought this because it had a huge number of positive reviews. However, I found the instructions minimal (had to resort to YouTube) and fitting it required the dexterity of a neurosurgeon. After a very, very long time, I managed to fit it only to find that the unit was faulty. Fortunately, I was able to return the product to Amazon easily and receive a full refund.
