Worked great!

We are currently putting Hardie board planks up and these make it so easy you can do it yourself! They slide in under the second board and space it where it you want it. It is adjustable to make the spacing different sizes as to if you want a straight line on either side of a door or window. They work great! Originally bought a set at Lowe's, but returned them as I needed to get a building permit to do this work so I had to wait. Then I found them on Amazon. Less expensive and shipped out immediately. If you are a homeowner as I am and doing this work yourself, don't forget to wrap your house with the correct tape and use the Gecko's. They make putting it up so easy!

Great Tool Give you the ability to install 12' boards by yourself

I Purchased this product after years of making my own site made clips for siding. I would recommend these for anyone working alone hanging longer sections of lap siding. I recently used them to hang 3/8x8x16' LP SmartSide textured lap siding and they were very helpful and were capable of holding the weight of the lap siding. The levers are a cam which applies pressure to the lap siding material to friction fit in place holding the loose piece above. It took a few pieces to get used to how far to tighten the level/cam, too far and the tool would rock away from the wall, too little and it would not hold. Once you have a feel for the level/cam they work very well. I read others reviews prior to purchasing and I did not experience issues with micro adjustments as noted in the other reviews. I was able to install at a desired lap of 1-1/8" easily and consistently. The tool held up from a durability standpoint and several drops from 12'-16' onto rock, grass, concrete, etc. I would note the provided acorn cap nut on the lap size adjustment bolt came off multiple times during the first project. I ended up swapping the acorn cap nut for a nylon lock nut and it fixed the issue. I would recommend doing this. The only other suggestion I would have is potentially swapping the direction of the lever/cam to point down when engaged. When handing 16' material by myself I inadvertently hit the lever/cam downward several times which causes the tool to drop to the ground. Overall I would recommend this tool to others. I would give a 5 star review if they came with nylon lock nuts in lieu of acorn cap nuts.

These things were an absolute life saver. I sided my entire house with them. It would have been insanely difficult without them, i.e., I would’ve needed another set of hands because 12 ft cement fiber boards are friggin heavy. They’re also excellent for taking quick measurements for tricky cuts, e.g., take a small piece of siding and put it on a gauge next to whatever it is that needs a non-uniform. They’re really easy to use. They have a bunch of different settings for different reveals. They don’t scratch the siding. I even used them to help hold up the trim under the eves. Highly recommend!

If you are siding a building this is an indispensable tool. It makes the job a one man job.

Great product, made the job super easy and much faster

Tried the rest, sent them all back, and now using the best. The Gecko siding tool is absolutely the best of all the siding tools. It doesn't slip, sag or bow out when you tighten the handle like the others do. If you're doing a siding job be it DIY or you're a Pro, buy these!!
