Good price for *very* durable casual player paddles
I paid $33 for these. Price has been fluctuating, make sure you dont pay radically more without checking around. The paddles come with a little sticker with ratings on them for Speed, Spin and Control and they are all around 35-50. I gather that the ratings are from the manufacture, and there is no single uniform scale, so I dont know how much meaningful information this really conveys to a casual player. They play like any other casual use paddles I have ever played with -- of the fullsome rubber variety, not the thin wood with a thin rubber piece glued on. The price is right, and we have not seen any durability issues at all despite having these for months. We dont play that much its true, but we have an 8 year old that plays with his friends sometimes (i.e. the paddles have been abused) and despite that they are still fine. I am particularly impressed that none of the balls that came with this set got crushed or dented. In short, the quality is a lot better than the casual stuff I'm used too.If you are really competetive, you might want something better, but if you just want to mess around with your family and the occassional friends, these seem perfect. It might be possible to find the ultra-cheap stuff that I remember from playing growing up, but you'll regret it due to the durability issues that plague the ultra-cheap stuff. This set is definitely worth the money unless your competetive enough to get irate at the casual crowd.

Great paddles.
Played many games of ping pong and paddles worked better for some than others! LOL

Good set for the beginning family
This is the perfect starter set. I got it for the family so we could go to the local rec center and use our own balls and bats. It is a great value for that type of effort. I own a nicer bat for competitive play, but for getting out with the family it works great. The bats are quality enough for me to play close to my competion play. You can teach the family spin techniques, but even if you are not a serious player these are far better than the junk bats most community tables have.

these are pretty bad. For casual casual doubles play at nerfed ...
Insanely cheap, but compared to how springy and grippy the nicer more expensive paddles are, these have almost no spin and the surface is more of a foam than a rubber sheet, and it dampens the ball so severely, you feel really wimpy. For casually competetive play, these are pretty bad. For casual casual doubles play at nerfed speeds and no spin, and at an unbelievable price (i was able to get it for $15), you can try these. Minus the cost of the balls, it was almost free.If you want a budget paddle with quality bounce and spin (but kind of on the heavy side), i recommend mapol 2 paddle set..

this set is an amazing bargain. The rubber and padding are surprisingly good ...
Look, the paddle handles are rough and unfinished, but not enough to give me splinters, and for the price, this set is an amazing bargain. The rubber and padding are surprisingly good - gives me the control I'm used to- and the balls work well and feel right. This is much better than hard-rubber foamless pips up paddles in starter kits, and hopefully these will send my kids down the path of good feel and technique that the hard ones wouldn't. Highly recommend this starter set for beginners, for people who need a set to play with friends, and for those who haven't had time to pick out their good paddle yet.

Solid Rackets
I just started to get my kids into playing table tennis and I still had my old rackets from a decade ago which had seen better days. These are solid paddles and you can get a decent amount of spin. Other reviews knocked that they were not finished/varnished, but I see no issues with that as they are sanded smooth. That might be an issue if being used/stored outside, but inside no issues. Worked great, good price.

A good way to get 2 on 2 games going on a budget.
This is a good way to buy enough ping pong equipment to get 2 on 2 games going. The paddles are entry level. Don't expect them to be top notch and you will not be disappointed. The balls are good but not high end. As I said this is a good way to get 2 on 2 games going on a budget. This is not something to buy if you are really into ping pong, you will find the paddles to be entry level. You can spin with these paddles, but novice players may find it hard. Expert players can spin on almost anything. Power shots with these paddles is okay.
