The cable I got was bad
The cable I got was bad – which I should have tested before installing, but I did not, resulting in a day’s work wasted. After running the cable, I tested and found no connection on pin 7 and 8. Thinking I installed the connectors wrong, reinstalled the connectors on each end twice before stripping the ends and using a multimeter to check for continuity to find the cable is broken somewhere in the middle of about 80 feet run.The spool of cable had connectors installed at the two ends, perhaps for testing before shipping it out. When I looked at the connector still in the box (the other end was already cut off and discarded), I found two of the 8 strands were not even in the connector. (Picture attached). It appears quality control was planned at some point but is not being executed anymore.I removed the inside connector as well and tested the rest of the wire in the spool. I got continuity on all 8. Thinking I just had a bad section and was about to make another go of it, but when I made a short patch cable, found pin #4 having no connection. I pulled a 2 feet section of the cable out of the jacket and found blue wire is nicked (Picture attached). It would have been a good value if more attention was paid to the manufacturing and quality control of the cable. The crimper and tester worked fine.

Not too bad for the price, but needs patience
Pros:- Price- Tester works well and saved me lot of time- Crimp tool works well, just make sure you know how to use it. There is a correct way and a wrong way to insert the RJ45 into it.Cons:- The biggest con for me was the RJ45 connectors. It doesn't have that little "sled" thingie so it was bit of a pain inserting the wires into the connectors. Just come prepared with patience if this is the first time you've done this.- My order came with 0 instructions. Nothing a little internet search won't fix though.A better RJ45 connector with the sled would have made this 5 stars.

Cable was defective
The cable spool came with a rj45 connector on each end (presumably for testing). After testing the cable, only 3 of the 8 wires were showing a valid connection for the spool. As for the quality:The quality of the cable was very poor. The outer casing and wires are very thin and brittle. The tester is a standard cheap tester and gets the job done (I tested it on other cables to make sure it was working). It is decent quality. The rj45 heads are terrible. They do not clip in properly and also do not have insert guides/pass through making them difficult to use with cat6 cable. The crimping tool felt like it was good quality. It was solid. My only complaint about the crimping tool is that it did not have a locking mechanism. I struggled to get a valid connection and it's possible it was caused by the crimping tool. However, the connect or cable is more likely to be the cause.

Plugs missing load bar, doesn't meet CAT6 standard
I am really struggling to assemble ethernet cables with this kit. The plugs are missing the load bar, which helps keep the wires aligned as you insert them into their final position. The plug appears to be designed to accept a load bar, but they are missing. Since a load bar is part of the CAT6 standard, this kit isn't CAT6.If you are trying to hardwire a network into a house, this kit isn't worth the hassle. It is really a pain to keep the wires aligned when inserting them into the plug. It takes 5 times longer than it should.

Ordered Cat6, got Cat5
I specifically needed Cat6 for a situation where I didn't want to have to re lay any cabling a second time. Cut the cable, did the work, 93 mbps. Did a second cable, 94 mbps. Did a shorter section and plugged it directly into the modem, 94 mbps. Ordered a completely different cable, same everything else (including length) and got 390 mbps.I'll be returning this.

Great value for the price
I've read a lot of reviews about this combo set.. some were very negative but a bunch said good bang for your buck. That's where I also agree.. Yes it could be better but for the price you can't beat it. The tester is not the best of the best but it'll tell you whether or not you crimped your cable properly at the least, that's making the assumption that its actually working. Fortunately, the tester I received is working fine and the cables I made all work just fine. All of the items in this combo worked just fine for me.

Very Poor Quality
Price is very cheap, but what you get here is cheap quality:1. Connectors are terrible, they will not stick to wall and keep falling out, my other cables all stick fine on those wall outlets.2. Network Tester is good, but connectors on tester is very poor, will not hold the cable.3. The cable is of poor quality, the thin wires inside are not round and that gets it hard to stick into connectors.

Very great little kit!
Very satisfied! I bought this to run in my attic and down the wall to create an Ethernet line in the wall and hired a handy man. He was there for three hours getting it to work but we finally got it and I have fiber hard line in my office! The tools are fair quality and it’s standard CAT6 cable. Good little kit for the price.
