Buh bye moles!
UPDATE: This product gave me a solid 2 months without moles! Yesterday I noticed a mole had returned. So, I will be applying another round of Molemax before it invites it’s friends. *** I’d been dealing with moles for a couple years and tried numerous ways to get rid of them before finding this product. Moles completely disappeared about a week after applying Molemax, and I haven’t seen any more activity in over a month! No more daily mole hills, and the grass has grown back. I’ll be buying this again for sure.

Wish it lasted longer
This stuff definitely works - just not super long. I put it on and I notice less holes from the gophers in my area for a few weeks, and then they come back. It is effective but kind of expensive for keeping a whole yard free of them like I have to. Since I haven't found a lot of alternatives though, this is probably worth checking out. I just wish it lasted a little longer.

Mixed review
Eh not that affective. They still ate my flowers but not as bad as they would have without it. It definitely keeps them away but not ALL of them. There’s a few sneaky ones

Possibly somewhat effective when mixed into planting hole
I have been using this product for over a year, in an effort to reduce vole damage in my flower beds. In defense of this product, I can say that so far, when I've mixed this into a planting hole, the plant has not been completely destroyed. However, voles will happily tunnel all around the plant, inches from where this was mixed into the soil. After a year of adding this product to planting holes, putting it in tunnels, and scattering it on the top of the soil, it seemed to do nothing to get voles out of my flower beds. (I've recently found that repeatedly stomping their tunnels seems a lot more effective!)

ONLY for Moles. Useless for Armadillos
My neighbor and I have an Armadillo invasion in our lawns. He bought this item and suggested I do the same. He used it for 2 days before mine arrived. His armadillo problem got worse! Much worse. I think they actually like the stuff. Don’t know how effective it is with Moles. IMO, the packaging is very misleading saying this works for armadillos. In fact, there are only directions on packages for moles.

Highly recommend Molemax!!! It WORKS!!
Works great!!! This product has a strong odor (tolerable, the smell fades) but, IT DOES THE JOB! I sprinkled Molemax granules around my vegetable garden bed. I was able to plant and HARVEST beets, carrots, white potatoes and lettuce this year. I had given up on root crops because of the moles and voles You must REAPPLY the granules, throughout the growing season, based on observed pest activity. I've been doing 4-6 weeks to maintain the repellent effect. You don't need to put a whole lot each time. My flower pots were under constant attack by chipmunks and squirrels. I sprinkled Molemax around the plants, inside the flower pots. So far, the soil and wood chips have not been dug out of the pots. YOU MUST REAPPLY the granules over time.

Long term testing says not that great
=== <original post> Product arrived when promised, and in good condition. Pricing was competitive. So far the product seems to be working but the real test is still to come. I have not found any competing products in the granular form that were competitive. The granulal mix is consistent and spreads consistently with a spreader. === spring 2010 Update, I have a couple of years of testing in on this product. I finally am keeping voles "mostly" from destroying the lawn by using this and keeping vole poison in the bad areas. I found this repellent works OK but I needed a lot more than was advertised. You can smell it a little when it is put down and after substantial rain you'll need to apply more. Gets a bit expensive so I found large 10# bags that I now order. Overall, this is a small piece of controlling the voles but don't expect it to completely keep the buggers away by itself. Consider vole poison to assist with infestations. I did buy some vole control poison "tube" kits and they worked but were pretty ugly in the yard. I now use little "huts" to keep the poison dry... === Fall 2011 UPDATE ... OK, so it has been 3 years now. Wow, hard to believe! Anyway, I've had 3 seasons to apply the product in fall, winter and summer conditions. I have quite a problem in the fall and winter and have tried more repellent more often and reapplied after rain. I kept certain areas untreated as a control group for nearly 1 year. Unfortunately I noticed little if any difference between the treated and untreated areas. In summer there might have been a slight benefit but not enough to warrant buying this stuff as it is pricey after shipping. Unfortunately I no longer can recommend the product as after giving it 3 years and probably 350 pounds of the stuff, no discernible relief. I know poison is not everyone's cup of tea but the alternative is to stop by and reseed my lawn 3 times a year...

I use it every year. Will never go without it again
This is by far the best product I purchased to get rid of moles from digging in the yard. It does help with squirrels but that's not necessarily what I get it for. I love that it's a simple product being only castor oil and binding products, so there's not a lot of heavy chemicals. I have chickens in my yard and they free range. I'm not worried about them when I put this product down. It works really well if you use it as directed. That means you can't do your whole yard all at once because you'll just drive them crazy and they're going to run around nuts ripping up the whole place. Instead, you're supposed to start on one side. I generally recommend starting near concrete or pavement and pushing them back away from that area. You need to water it down into the lawn surface. Applications do not work. It has to seep down. Once you 've done 20-ft sections at a time and push them all the way back, you can just do a perimeter line a few feet wide to keep them from returning. I do this in the spring and fall works great
