The 911 & 912 Porsche: A Restorer's Guide to Authenticity Paperback – January 29, 1989

Indispensable for anyone restoring an early Porsche 911 or 912 (1964-1973), which is not specified in the title. Bear in mind that the first edition of this guide was published in 1988 when newer models didn't need restoring--yet. After misplacing my original guide, I bought the latest version and found a few minor but welcome changes--better photos, it appears. But no color, which would be helpful. As would be other bits of more recent Porsche minutiae gleaned from numerous 911 and 912 websites. Granted, the electronic medium is a font of information but searching for a specific topic online, then accesssing it (think greasy handprints all over your computer or iPad) make a paper-based guide handier and essential for the busy restorer.

The pictures aren't great as they are all old and in black and white. But the information is fantastic!!!I'm restoring a 70s 911 and a 912. I had a few questions on trim etc... That weren't listed on the certificates I was able to get from Porsche. I even called Porsche North America and in Germany and they couldn't give me what I needed.This book had all the answers! It has every detail about every model for every year. If that's the level of detail you want you won't be disappointed

The book could have been formatted a bit better for easier use and reference, but it certainly contains a lot of useful information. In restoring my '67 912 it has been valuable in such areas a interior appointments, body details, and manufacturing dates. In an update edition paint chips and more year-by-year photos would be of help. Anyone bringing one of these beauties "back from the dead" should have this book and just plain Porsche fans will find it interesting.

The book is very good and has a lot of good information for the devoted fans of Porsche.What I didn't like is the fact that in the cover doesn't tell you that the information only aplies for the years 1965 to 1973... my car is a 1975...

As a first time Porsche owner/restorer, this book gave me excellent references for locating model year differences. I was educated and entertained while reading this book and recommend it both prior and after to buying your early model year Porsche 911 or 912. Photographs were definitive and accurate with part number nomenclature demystified.

this is a great book for someone looking to restore the Porsche, must have. i was hopping to get more pictures on some specific item like carpets and interior with color print instead.

This is an outstanding reference for anyone interested inrestoring or researching a vintage Porsche 912 or 911. I found thisbook to be quite good with respect to details about the trim andinstrumentation of early 912s...I would have rated the book five stars if color photography had been incorporated: The text and informational portions of the book certainly deserve the highest rating.

Il libro non è l'originale ma bensì una copia fatta male!All'interno è evidente la scarsa qualità di stampa, soprattutto delle immagini in bianco e nero, evidentemente fotocopiate!!!Anche la copertina a colori è evidentemente una fotocopia!

libro molto utile per chi possiede una 911 o per chi deve acquistarne una. Mette a raffronto molti particolari delle diverse versioni in modo da riconoscerle e distinguerle.
