Haircutting Basics: An easy, step-by-step guide to cutting hair the professional way

This is a must reading for anyone who is starting to learn how to cut hair. It explains very well the basic things, simple, that you need to know to cut hair. This book does not explain advanced techniques or haircuts, but to do this you need first to learn the basics, and this book does a prety good job at that. The drawings are good and helpful to understand the material explained. I would recomend to buy the accompanying VHS to understand better. This VHS is not available through amazon, at least at this time, but it can be ordered by requesting a brochure at 305-362-6998 of the publishing company.

I was very disappointed with this book. It doesn't have enough pictures and I needed help to cut my mother's short hair and this book did NOT help. I'm a beginner.

I read the basic book. Learned a few things. I cut my husband hair. Never knew about the occipital bone nor the guide cut. I also learned how to hold the scissors. Never knew I was holding them wrong. Good, fast, easy read!

Great if you want to learn how to cut 80's bi-levels. Literally, almost all of the haircuts are a version of a bi-level and the book calls them that. Awful, don't waste your money.
