Sticky Bumps Cool/Cold Water Surfboard Wax 5 Pack

Back in the day, buying wax was one of those things you had to do at the local surf shop. Usually in a panic right before a surf session. It was either that or walk up and down the tide line looking forlornly for someone's partial bar washed up on shore. I am not all that self conscious, but it always seemed I was running the gauntlet at the surf shops - being judged by the local scrum of surfers that might be in the shop and given the cold eye by the 'just above a carnie' worker at the shop who might snicker - 'Don't you want the sex wax?'. No. No Mr. Carnie - I want the Sticky Bumps - not your poor little attempt at sexual harassment. Those days are gone. Now I can proudly purchase my wax online. No more 'carnie gauntlet' and I only meet the local scrum in the lineup as nature intended. Sticky bumps is great. Goes on easily. Nice smell. Does the job.

Of the generic big brands - its a staple. sex wax or sticky bumps is all corporate rock surf america and the product works. You can buy the organic matunas "save the whales" style wax and have a different experience because their wax always has "something" wrong about it - spills, oils up, doesn't last long so you buy more of already over-hyped "wholefoods" prices for surf wax. I've frequently used this as a filler to get 1-day shipping; the price is only a little above what it would cost at a surf shop (most shops I've been do a $2 bar). As far as wax quality, I've been happy with Sticky Bumps, although I haven't used too many other brands (most shops around me just carry Sticky Bumps and Sex Wax, and I prefer the "bar" shape of Sticky Bumps). I've tried some 'knock-off' wax (wax from a brand I didn't recognize who also made generic surfboard accessories), and it was clearly inferior (very hard to break in half at the "split" line, hardness seemed off, as it was difficult to apply). I haven't noticed much of a difference between the Cold and Cold-Cool versions.

I love this wax. I like to buy it this way so I don't get stuck with no wax before a dawn patrol session when the surf store is closed. The smell is great. I would have given 5 stars but it gets stuck to my bathing suit sometimes.

The wax worked great for my surfboard, just wish it would have worked for the waves.

With this wax on my surfboard, I can get much more comfortable to pop up, great item!

Ordered this for my 13 year old for his skim board. He loves it and this should get us through the summer and then some!

The wax itself is great just paying 35 dollars duty that I was unaware of is terrible.
