A lifesaver for apartment living! Small, but mighty
We've had this for about three weeks now, and ordered it after losing some nights of sleep to the noises of our apartment building. Our upstairs neighbor has a toddler who is up crying at least once a night, and we hear sirens that go by our building several times each night. This thing drowns them all out! A few things about it: * It only makes one noise (a whirring-like one), which I hadn't quite paid attention to when I ordered it. (I just ordered it because it had such great reviews.) I had been hoping that it would have more noise options, but I actually do like the one it has. * The volume control is great, and it gives you the ability to make this as loud or as quiet as you need. * The tone control also is nice since it allows you to adjust the tone to the level that fits you best. * It has a small footprint, which is great. I've been keeping it on top of our large alarm clock/speaker system, and it works great. Even if it has to sit behind a lamp or something else, it puts out enough sound that you'll easily hear it. This thing is small, but mighty!

So happy I found this!
I was reluctant to purchase and use a "noise machine" to mask my husband's snoring. The only machines I had heard were the ones my adult children use for the grandkids. It seems that all of them have used a sound machine since birth and continue to have them on at night. Great for them but I didn't like the hissing sound they make and the ocean, bird, rainfall, etc. options that they offer are no better. Our Sunday paper has a columnist who reviews consumer electronic items and he recommended this noise machine over all others. He said that the combination of pink, brown and white noise (whatever those are) is very soothing. The price was right at around $20 so I purchased one. He was so right. I don't hear my husband snoring and I don't even have the volume turned all the way up on the machine. Thanks for a great product.

Good noise machine but mine might be defective
It's just white noise, but there is a dial to change the tone which I like. I didn't know how much I would love a noise machine and how much it could could help me fall asleep. For the first few weeks, everything was great but one night I woke up to what sounded like a machine gun, but it was just this noise machine. I don't know what is wrong with it, but now, every few minutes it grumbles. I have gotten used to it at this point so I still use it but it is definitely defective.

The PERFECTED and SIMPLIFIED white/brown/pink noise machine!!
Iโve only had this two days and it is already a favorite of mine. Comparing to my original Dohm fan-based white noise machine, this guy is just as loud, but offers more versatility in terms of range (pink to brown noise , whatever you may call it) The noise is amazing at drowning out those still awake in the house, and sound is impressively loud and deep for its relatively small size. The best part for me is that it is digital (with no moving parts and fans dying with age and pulling in dust), yet still has a โclickingโ physical switch that is an absolute requirement for me: as it is most simple to AUTOMATE... and with a cheapy Alexa Wifi wall plug you can find for $10 or less... When itโs time for bed, you just want to say โAlexa, goodnightโ and have the lights go off, ceiling fan turn on low, white noise machine come onโ etc . Technology is supposed to be LESS complicated , so I prefer LESS settings and buttons and things to mess with, in order to get everything just right so i can actually relax and not think about anything else! This thing is well priced and beats the expensive competition. I almost bought another fan based one like a Dohm-a**. Ha. Alexa, Goodnight !

Great use of $25 if you have a noise problem
I ordered this because of a mention in my local newspaper - they exist - confirmed by the great reviews. I can't believe something so inexpensive is so good! Every Monday morning, in the wee hours, the garbage and recycling trucks roar up the hill and the contents of our bins crash into their steel bowels. I wouldn't even want anything loud enough to drown that out, but the pleasant hum of this device softens the blow such that it doesn't wake me anymore! It does just what I wanted. Sound experts describe it with different colors, but to me it's 'white noise' - a hum - with a changeable tone. That variability is worthwhile. I have a definite preference in the available range, which exists because others will prefer something a little different. I won't say that I find it soothing above the lowest volume as I prefer the silence that is usually available, but I gratefully deploy this for garbage day and when my DH has had a few and is likely to be clumsy. Not even this wonderful device can overcome my nemesis, the gas-powered leaf blower, but what do you expect for $25? If you know something that beats a leaf blower, please comment with it and also tell the world! I bought this item at the listed price and received no incentive to write this review. How do ppl get in line for the free stuff?

Inferior to competitors (and 1 of 2 was defective)
We bought two of these, and once of them was defective: The power button has a bad connection and only turns it on maybe 10% of the time, so we need to repeatedly press the button to get it to "stick" and stay on, and even then sometimes walking by it or even its own sound will shut it off. The one that isn't defective, though, is nothing to write home about. At louder settings, the speaker will crackle/vibrate in a clearly non-intentional way. It turns on immediately, rather than fading in, so you have to turn your knob all the way down and fade it in manually so you don't startle anyone awake. the construction is clearly cheap. Looks cheap, feels cheap. For 3 extra dollars, I bought the Letsfit white noise machine. The controls are modern, it has way more options for sound (including crickets, birds, and a storm), it looks sleek and modern, the sound quality is better, it includes an optional night light with varying dimness, it can go WAY louder, and it automatically fades the sound in. It's unbelievable how much better this other product is. I'm going to be buying another so we can just throw these away.

Simple and easy to use.
I bought the LectroSound machine because of its simple, user-friendly controls that make it easy to operate in the dark. There are two large rotary dials to control tone and volume and a recessed button to toggle the machine on/off. This is only a white/colored noise generator. There are no lullabies or water sounds, no night light, and no phone connectivity. There are many sleep sound machines available that offer more features, but if you just need a bare-bones unit, this could be the one for you.

I'm torn....
My daughter had a super old sound machine for years that had a very soothing sound. That one died on us so purchased this one to replace it....she loves it, I find it terrifying! The sound is kind of bizarre, mixture of tv static and satanic whispering depending on where you have the dials set. She is perfectly happy with it though so I guess its a win?! I just hope I'm not summoning any demons

Simple and effective
Basic white & brown noises only. Volume and tone control dials. No buttons, no forest sounds or waves. Just the functions I need. I would buy a 2nd one but they don't seem to be for sale anymore. So who am I reviewing it for?

Low quality. Not reliable.
Poor quality. Started cutting out after only a few weeks use. We only ever used it on one setting left on a side table in babies room. Never travelled with it. Still sound started cutting out after a couple weeks.
