It is exactly what I expected an it is a great source for my theology class in which I must use accredited sources from history.

Excellent well-rounded collection
Excellent well-rounded collection. I own most of the documents in other books, but this is the first one I turn to. Plus, Ehrman's intro notes are definitely good to have!

Five Stars
Excellent book and a great seller.

Rather mediocre
Basically just a bunch of little excerpts, some of Apostolic material but most is sensational or heretical material. The author thinks the church suppressed or corrupted scripture and this bias is seen throughout the book. He takes excerpts from works and cuts portions out but doesn't tell you he abridged it. A tiresome text and not worth the time you'll waste figuring out it's worthless.
