Trains: Steaming! Pulling! Huffing!

My son loved this book more than the Boats book from the same author. He asks me to read it to him over and over again. This book has a more vintage vibe to it. There's lots going on in this book and everywhere you look, you find something to add to the already written words. This was great for us as we're trying to expand vocabulary, but it may not be great for parents who prefer more minimalist books.

My youngest loves trains, so of course I got this book for him. He enjoyed it. The illustrations were cute and the it was fun to read. My only problem was that a couple of the pages were sideways on the screen and when you flip device to read the page the whole thing shifts. I didn't like having to change the view while reading the book. Overall the book was wonderful and like I said my son loved it.

I bought this for my three and a half year old and he was interested in it for a bit but I think things got a bit too complicated. The rhymes were great and I liked to read it to him, but I think the illustrations had too much going on. Fortunately this just means I can put the book away for about six months and pull it out again and he’ll hopefully be able to have a better understanding of what’s going on. Glad I’ve invested in this great little children’s book.

My little 4 year old train lover loved this book. Fun to read! Highly recommend for kids who like to rhyme

I originally checked this book out of the library for my 18 month old grandson. It quickly became his favorite! Besides the beautiful illustrations of trains, the writing is captivating. The rhythm of the verses sound like a train as you read it out loud. I read it to him every night while he visited, sometimes more than once. When he left, I knew I had to get it for him for Christmas!

We like the pictures the rhyming and all the vehicles! One of our favorite book series and it doesn’t hurt that at the end they all rest!

Although my two year old son is train crazy, he seems to like this author's book about trucks better. I think it is that the rhyme and flow of the words is better in the truck book.

I purchased this and a the firefighter book almost 2 years ago before a 3 day Amtrak trip. My boys still love this book. And read it frequently.

My son likes the books a lot. He already started to say verses from the books at various occasions. I think most boys would like it.

Really fun. We bought this Kindle edition for a trip and our trying-crazed 3-year-old likes it so much, that we will probably buy a paper copy.
