It's got great characters, great illustrations
I've ordered a bunch of different childrens books related to math. This is by far one of the top handful of them. It's one of the only books where I could imagine a kid wanting to read it over and over again. It's got great characters, great illustrations, and the plot is fantastic even if you don't care about math. It's not heavy-handed at all. Just makes you want to understand how to scale things up and down so you can be like the characters!

Great book for introducing the concept of scale drawings
Great book for introducing the concept of scale drawings. A very dramatic reading keeps the students on the edges of their seat, even in the 7th grade.

Fun Way to Learn Ratio
I will say this is one of the most silliest books I have read.It is about two barbers who cut hair and make all sorts of designs. They set up shop and find themselves in a conflict. Small towns are small and their is just not enough room for the two of them.As they battle it out, they realize that they can work together as they each offer something different and unique. In addition to this being a very silly book that kids will just enjoy, I think this is a great way to introduce the concept of ratios and scale. This book has a few diagrams that will help teach children in a fun way.

Scale Concepts Made Easy
I purchased this book for my 6th grade math class. We were covering scale and ratios and I thought this book would help with understanding. When I read the story to the class, they were extremely eager to see each scale creation. The class thoroughly enjoyed the book and there was no doubt about what increase and decrease in scale meant!

Perfect for scale factor lessons!
This book works great for my 7th and 8th grade classes. The kids love the story and it was the perfect first time for them to practice scale factor.

Ridiculous Story, but Children like it
This book teaches children about scaling up and scaling down, disguised as a story about two hairdressers in the wild west. The plot is foolish and, whilst most of the text is easy to read for a child, there are one or two harder words dropped in that you need to explain. It seems to me to be one of the poorer books in the 'Maths Adventure' series, but it has proven to be the most popular. It was well packaged and arrived on time - no seller problems.
