Great book!
Super interesting book! Iβm a Pastor and God led me to this book and God gave me a message out of reading this book and how to apply it to build a closer relationship with God by not being a loner! Thank you!

Great lead into division
Young Joe is full of great rhymes and a great way to explain sets, patterns, division. My mother, a teacher got me this book after I joined the army. Really cute.

great book!
I received this book from a friend who was a teacher. I love this book! It's a great story about determination & working through a problem. My kids love it as well, especially 'Smart Joe, the remainder of one." :)

Really fun book.
Such a great reading aloud, literacy, teaching across the curriculum tool. So much fun to read to children using character voices. A 'must add to personal library' book.

A Remainder of One
I plan to use this book to introduce division with remainders to my students. It is a cute story, but I was a bit disappointed with the way several illustrated pages were put on one page.

Terrible kindle version - don't buy! Buy the book.
Due to other kindle versions of books being of such a high quality I wasn't put off by one bad review of the kindle edition of this book. I wish I had taken the advice however as the kindle version of this book is shocking! It looks like someone has made it themselves, it is certainly not professional. As you can see from the attached photos, the pictures are split up and the writing is small and blurred. So much so that the writing is re-written again under the pictures, however they don't all correspond! The whole point of the is book is it's a picture book and children need to see the visual representation of the arrays to fully benefit from it. I thought they would be able to see it better if I bought the kindle edition as I can use Apple TV to mirror my iPad screen on the whiteboard in school. The kindle edition is so bad that I couldn't use it at all! The kindle edition is also more expensive than the paperback!

My class adored this!
The principles of division with remainders told through a delightful rhyming tale. It helped that one of my class was called Joe (the hero of the story). Utterly charming way of engaging with number. My class are year 4, but younger ones would love it too.

The idea is good but I am disappointed that it is dressed up ...
The idea is good but I am disappointed that it is dressed up as an army story. I won't read it to my grandson but will use the idea to make up a story.

Brilliant Story for teaching division
A great story to use in class to teach division (I used it in a year 2 lesson). Children really engaged and you can make reading and PSHE links too. Perfect.

Division problem solving
I've used this book a couple of times as a way into problem solving with a purpose. It's a real dilemma for Soldier Joe!
