A modern day Romeo and Juliet
You know the story. Two families have hated each other all their lives, and continue the tradition by raising their children to hate each other. However, the children meet, not knowing the other is their enemy, and fall in love. It's a fresh spin on it- Kait starts a new school and feeling overwhelmed, spends her time writing in her journal. But who should she meet but a boy named Bram who also likes to spend his time in the shade, quietly drawing. The two are drawn to each other and all is going well until Kait finds out who he really is. Can their love overcome their family history? You'll have to read to find out!Overall it's a cute story, and though I don't expect one, I'd love to see a sequel. There are a lot of loose ends still laying around when the story finishes and I'd like to see what else could happen in Kait and Bram's lives.

Scribbler of Dreams
Wow... that's all I can say. Less than a day it took me to finish this book, and it kind of got me thinking. I don't really relate to Kait Malone, but I FEEL for her. I can imagine what she's going through, and we kind of have a lot in common when it comes to the whole thing she goes on about, which is her regret.Let's just say this is a teen romance with meaning, and no sex scenes. Yet it's still beautiful and easy to understand, even though I doubt many of us have gone through what Kait has. But I can feel for her and I can see her pain through glimpses into her private journal, and then I fell in love with the book. It's books like this that make me want to be a wonderful writer, because this is just doing it for me...

Oh the lying just goes on and on...
Right now I on page 109 and I had to take a break. Kait's lying is getting sooo long that she has now given her best friend some terminal condition!!! Man, I just want to yell JUST TELL HIM!!!! OK, so I'm going to continue reading, but I may switch back to This Lullaby when I need something to read this evening.I ended up finishing the book and was kind of disappointed at the end. The author seemed to get tired at the end and just seemed to want to do a quick wrap up. I felt sorry for the families and I felt that her revelations from Maggie's journals did not help the families at all. The back stories behind the colleges seemed to be unresolved. Was Bram going to go to college or not? Most likely not, but the book left many things still up in the air.

It was my favorite book when I was in junior High
It came to me with a different cover on it instead. It's still the same book but a completely different cover. It was my favorite book when I was in junior High. I have now bought this book three times because it gets lost or someone hasn't returned it. It's a great book.

Always a favorite for teen girls
As an eighth grade language arts teacher, this book is always a favorite for my girls. I have never had a girl that does not like this book. It has romance, excitement, and mystery all in one book. I loved the writing tie-in in the climax. I teach in a private Catholic school where funding is limited for books, so I have bought books for my reading library and this is one I never hesitate to purchase.

A New Beginnning
Bought this for my granddaughter for a summer book required by school. Of course, it was read several weeks before and when she really got in to it she couldn't put it down. Any book that turns a 12 year old on to enjoying reading is a good one with me.
