Impressive.
Fit in my Nike sling bag and I fell skateboarding and rolled a few feet, pole was fine in the backpack. Owned it for 2 days and took it down to a creek nearby, caught a decent sunfish pretty fast. Good cast, Lightweight, Im impressed. The stock 4lb line likes to bunch up, real cheap. may upgrade reel and line in the future.

Handy fishing rod for great price
You can beat it if you're on a budget. Easy to have it all put together and strung with line and then collapse it and put it in your back pack. Keeps your hands free when you're hiking over to that next lake. A warning though: don't pull it too hard while you're extending it. It can get stuck and be very difficult to collapse back down again!

Reel is garbage
I had high hopes for this product. The rod is great for backpacking, the reel on the other hand is garbage. Because the rod is so wobbly when cast, the line has a tendency to birds nest until it's worn in. However, the reel itself is falling apart, and I've taken it out three times. The bail constantly comes loose, so bring a screwdriver with you when you fish. The third time out the reel body is falling apart, and sometimes jams. It's now to a point it's just falling off.The rod itself is great and easily compact, which is an awesome feature. It's the only good feature of this setup.I do wish that the rod itself locked into place when collapsed, this is probably the only thing that needs to be added to this, that and putting a new reel on, because don't expect any sort of longevity out of the reel.

A great setup for your backpack or camping gear.
What can you say. It's an Eagle Claw Product. I bought this Telescopic Rod Combo to add to my backpack. Very light and easy to pack set up. Plus....... if you have been around fishing much, you know the Eagle Claw name and quality. This one comes with 6 lb test, which is perfect for me as I will be using it for panfish and maybe the occassional bass. I am not sure what brand line it comes spooled with as it did not state on the tag with the combo. All of the rod sections collapse within each other and the larger one that collapses into the handle, twists to lock all the others together. When you get ready to use it again, just twist the large one about 90 degrees, and extend them all out and they will lock in place. You just have to make sure you have all the eyelits lined up and you tighten everything down.I tried it out at a small pond near us and it operates smoothly, the bale functioned properly, and after several casts it loosened up a little so it was even more smooth. I even caught a small yearling bass and was able to adjust the drag a little while it was on. Everything worked great, nothing came loose and all the rod sections and eyelits stayed aligned. So I will call it good.If you want a light action rod, a good backpack or camping rod, or even one just to throw under your car seat to keep with yoou for those spur of the moment fishing adventures, this would be a good additon.

I bought two, one FELL APART before i even got to use it.
I bought two of these for a backpacking trip with my kids. One of the two fell apart, the handle came out of the reel body en route to the lake and no idea where along the trail it was, so it was useless. The other one worked ok, but often got tangles and cast issues with normal use. I spent two times as much time fixing tangle issues than we spent fishing.I did like how they collapsed down small though.BEWARE buying a for a future trip, because by the time I tried to use it, and found out how bad they were, the return window had closed and I can't seem to find how to contact the manufacturor.

Can't beat the price for a portable light action setup.
Was looking for a travel rod that wouldn't break the bank as I was just getting back into fishing. This was the perfect choice considering I mostly look for panfish. Rod is very lightweight and has decent action, my one complaint is that the reel is not very smooth but for this price I can't complain too much. Would definitely reccomend for beginners or anyone looking for a light travle rod.
