Ephesians (The NIV Application Commentary)

Good analysis of Ephesians, though there were a couple of comments that I objected to (like a condemnation of homosexuality).

An amazingly well done commentary. This is the third I've done in this NIV series. Genesis was fantastic but Matthew was actually very hard to plow through (both different authors).Snodgrass did an incredible job here explaining context and meaning behind the words and Paul's construction of this letter. As with other in the series, each section is subdivided into three sections. While he already does a great job with the history and meaning, I think he has nailed it with Bridging Context and Contemporary Significance sections.This is well done enough book to use for a seminary class, but practical enough and engaging enough to use for a Bible study. Highly recommend to get a much better understanding of Ephesians.

Found this commentary used on Amazon to add to my theological library. The NIV Life Application Commentary series is one of the best I have found to help prepare Sunday school lessons. Unfortunately, the local Christian book store had decided not to continue stocking them. This book had been used. The back had been forced so it would lay open flat but nothing was missing and all the pages were clean. Great addition to my collection!

This is very good commentary I have used to help teach on the letter of Ephesians. I have found these commentaries to provide what is needed in teaching from Scripture.

This book is not boring at all! I enjoy reading it. It explains the "abstract" concepts of Ephesians in tangible points. Easy to follow.

Ok commentary. This one will get you some good information, but do NOT use this as your main or only commentary. He has a different view in many cases than other writers. The structure of this book is readable and can even be helpful at times, however I have found that it can also be difficult to follow. He will at times begin discussing something and then pick it back up in another section leaving you flipping all over.

I have a paper this semester, and needed a commentary for Ephesians. I purchased this book on the reviews, and the recommendation of my class instructor. I wasn't disappointed one bit, enjoyed what I have read. which is very little, but look forward to using is some more. I would recommend this book for anyone. very easy to read.

Having only just purchased I haven't read it all yet. However the material I have looked up has been excellent.

Excellent Commentary - I'd advise anyone interested in understanding this book of the Bible better and its relevance today to read it.

Excellent concise commentary. It brings the book of Ephesians through to contemporary applications, which makes it very useful for sermon preparation.
