Perfect!
Perfect! It's a little bigger than I envisioned but it works really well. I did a laundry room remodel and this along with a separate ironing board holder were prefect for my space. I chose to do separate items (I know I could get a combined one) because they were set up in a corner and separate ones worked best. I've included the drawing for the space showing the area for the Iron Holder, the ironing board, and the stencil I also ordered. It all looks great and I am very pleased with how it all came together!!

love it. Great great Great
Bought this iron holder and a rowenta cord reel and I tried it when I received but was disappointed as I could not get it in, then I tried my old iron and it fit well. I told my hubby and he tried and it fit perfect. When you get it, you have to try it out as it fits I guess with the specific Iron so first time you have to squeeze it in. It is great now and very easy putting and out. The metal plate is great as I can put my iron after ironing without worrying that it is hot. looks great. Wish I could give it more stars

Beware the size of your iron
The product is fine ............BUT bought a Black and decker Allure Iron with it and it does not fit this holder. Beware that wider, or newer design irons irons may not fit. If they had a "wide version" it would be fine..

Exactly what I need! (Tested, photos added)
Just 2 days after ordering, this came in today (USPS)!The mounting screws (2) were plenty long enough to accommodate the (1 and 1/8") space behind the plate, any surface of a wall, such as drywall, and still "bite" into a stud or drywall mount. It did not come with the drywall mounts, but if that means it's cheaper, I'm good with it.I've mounted this to my (very sturdy) closet door next to my ironing board. Both my house iron and my (brand new, super huge) sewing iron fit fine (photos), tight enough that I have full confidence in its holding power. There's plenty of open space for cords. There's even a bottom cut out for cords that protrude from the center bottom. Before i mounted the holder, I took my (brand new, super huge) sewing iron, turned the dial as far up as it would go and made sure it was at max heat. After sliding it in, I held my hand behind the holder (at the flush point where it would be level with the door) for a full minute and felt nearly NO heat. My forehead is hotter. At the top, because my (brand new, super huge) iron went past the top and was actually sitting on, and went a tad beyond, the plastic housing, I also tested for heat at resting level with my hand. There was a little heat coming from the iron, but it's not enough to even worry. And the plastic housing wasn't even phased by the DIRECT heat from the iron.In photos, I set my reading glasses in for visual size relativity. In short, I have FULL CONFIDENCE in this holder!

Great holder, but measure your iron first.
This is a good product. It's well made from durable materials, and it's easy to install. BUT, many irons won't fit in it. Most irons are around 5" wide near the heel. If that width is close to the sole plate, and then the iron narrows quickly toward the handle, it should fit in this holder. But, if your iron is still 4-1/2"- 5" wide 2"-3" above the soleplate, it probably will NOT fit in this holder because of the way the plastic sides are designed. My Rowenta model DZ 5990 iron would not fit in the holder, but my Sunbeam Turbo Steam Master model GCSBCS-212 did fit. It fit very tightly at first but after a while, the plastic sides stop springing back to their original position and the iron fits perfectly. If you look at pictures of those two irons online, you'll see that the Rowenta is tall and wide at the back, while the Sunbeam's widest part is closer to the soleplate. This Minky Iron Holder isn't universally accepting of different iron designs, but if your iron fits in it, I think you'll be very happy with your purchase.

Waste. Doesn't fit most steam irons
Useless, it says it fits most steam irons but it only fits the small ones. So irons with a big bottom or those with cable storage are a definite no, but then even the regular sized ones don't fit. All my three steam irons don't fit and j tried to return it and it costs $6 to return. So I have a this thing for no reason.

Quilting room must
This was easy-peasy to install in my sewing/quilting room on the wall by my drop-down ironing board. I love that I can stash the hot iron right away at the end of my sewing session without waiting for it to cool. I've had this several months and it is holding up great.

Perfect solution
I am renovating some space to make my wife an attractive and organized sewing room. I had explored some other iron storage solutions including the wire ones. I hated the other ones. They were ugly and allowed for the iron to fall through. This model had many complaints about what it would hold and what it wouldn't, but I decided to try it anyway. Glad I did. I like the metal backing. I like the cord wrapping. I like how securely it holds the iron. I like everything about it. And it looks nice.
