BROTHERFS60X Sewing Machine

I’m neither a complete beginner nor an expert. This machine is perfect for me. I love the choice of 60 stitches and I find them very easy to use. The instructions for threading the machine, changing the bobbin, needle or presser foot are good, and I love that it threads the needle for me! It feels nice and sturdy without being too heavy, and looks very smart. I love that I can select the speed, and this has come in very handy when sewing something tricky and I need to take it slowly. It isn’t too noisy, either. I think it’s really good value.

I needed a second machine for my wife, as her old Brother was beginning to look very dated indeed. Being a Brother fan I went for this model. After all it does all my wife needs and more. As an extra bonus, we got this during the black friday sale for a penny under £200.She loves the speed control - as do I - and the sheer ruggedness of this model. My wife has already got a lot of use from it and she loves it. It is quieter than her old model - now passed on to a fried who is just starting her sewing journey. The controllability of stitch choice and the ease to apply it is a real benefit - all quite logical.Best of all the results are perfect. Highly recommended.

I purchased the Brother FS60X Sewing Machine back in January with the intention of delving into the world of sewing and taking on ambitious projects. After an extensive search, I found this machine to be a perfect fit for my needs. Let me share my experience with you.From the moment I started using the Brother FS60X, I found it to be incredibly beginner-friendly. Even as a novice, I was able to navigate its functions and features with ease. The machine has proven to be reliable, except for one minor issue I encountered early on. On one occasion, the feed dogs momentarily went in reverse instead of forward. However, a simple on off of the machine fixed my issue.I have undertaken numerous sewing projects since then, and this machine has effortlessly handled a variety of materials. From elastic thread to thicker fabrics like fleece-backed jersey and denim, the Brother FS60X has consistently delivered excellent results.I did notice that the overcast stitch was somewhat time-consuming. To address this, I ended up investing in an overlocker, which has solved the issue for me.What truly impressed me about this sewing machine is its durability and resilience. I use it on a weekly basis, often for hours on end, working on my personal projects. The FS60X has proven itself to be a true workhorse, capable of handling my demanding workload without any hiccups. I have full confidence that it will continue to serve me well for a long time to come.While I am thoroughly satisfied with this model, I can envision myself upgrading to a more advanced machine in the future. One feature I would love to have is automatic backstitching. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this machine to anyone in search of a reliable and versatile sewing companion. I have no regrets about my decision to purchase this model, and I anticipate using it until it eventually decides to retire.

Excellent sewing machine and very easy to use. Being able to use without the foot pedal is a blessing as I need surgery on my knees. There are also videos on YouTube if you need any guidance to use the machine.

I'm so happy and satisfied with the stitches quality, tension adjustment work very good. Stitch selection is easy and simple. With this machine, the button hole created is professional, the speed control is of great benefits to both beginners and exprience dressmakers. I'm so happy with my wife comments that said "if my twin sister sees this machine she will not only like it but she will also buy it" my 12 year old daughter also understand how to thread, change stitch type and also what foot is require for different stitches in less than 30 minutes. The manual is well written, the diagrams says mothern the words. Thanks Brother for such and excellent machine at this price. I spent almost 2 months researching for what is good for me as a dressmaker even though I have industrial sewing machine at my side that does only straight stitch and finally I'm satisfied and ok with this machine.

Great Machine for Beginner / and User who wishes to Improve.Purchased the FS60s ( Same as a FS60X but the Buttons have been moved around a bit ) which is the same Specification as the FS40 but is the FS60 has- 20 more stitch's than the FS40- The FS60 also has Auto Treading Tool which the FS40 does Not.( This is Great for anyone who is over 50 , making Treading the Needle Fairly Easy.)Both Machines have drop in bottom bobbins , speed adjustment , stich length & width Adjustment.In fact the operation Manual is the same for both models. ( as well as the FS70 and FS100 models ).It Maybe a Good Idea to look at the Cost of the FS70 WTS and the FS100 which is basically the Same Machine but with more stich options. ( I think the FS100 does Lettering )The switches and buttons are in the same location and the videos on You tube work for both models.Also by using the Needle up button & the auto needle threader this task is easy.Purchased extra bobbins which are 20.5 mm diameter , 11.5 mm deep , Hemline 120.23 plastic bobbins are the same as the brother ones and cheaper.I also have a old brother LS21250 (mechanical machine 23 stiches and the FS60 is so easy to set up, easy to use and a big step up in features, compared to this old machine.Please Note the Model I Purchased was the FS60S in 2019 , the Newer Model is the FS60X , the only difference between these Models is that the manufacturer has moved the location of the buttons on thefront of the unit and minor Colour Scheme changes.I hope this Helps.Best Regards B.H.

A great machine, but there is no support underneath the sewing arm so the machine feels unstable. Also the LCD screen does not have backlight or any way to change the contrast, making it very difficult to read in many lighting conditions.
