Works great and lasting!
Unit has been in and working for 4 years now, installed in April 10th 2022. The unit was easy to install and is working great! Excellent price! I'm now putting in one for my neighbor since her old ones only last approximately 2 years and cost her $500!

Nice disposer! good value but
Removed a 1/2 hp waste king and installed this one. It contained most everything needed for the install. I have used them all. Most are made by Emerson Motor Corperation and resemble ISE In-Sink-erator. These resembles GE Is it made by GE Im not sure. It was years ago. The installation was simple. My recomendtion is to use Plumbers Putty arount the sink flange. My experience with the INCLUDED rubber gasket is, the oils from the food attacks it and it swells. The rubber doesent have muct to seal on with a porcelin sink (like mine). The putty will last for many many years, and has always been used by the pros. less than $3.00 a tub normally. Be sure the flange it tightened fully. Perhaps recleck its tightness after a few days to be sure. Dont go crqazy just until it stops turning against the sink and and a bit beyond snug. its plactic remember. plug it in and go. This machine really spins up fast and will emulsify nicely. This unit uses a steel grinding element. It appears to be stainless. However says steel. For this reason and this reason only, My recommendation is to use the 1/2 hp unit. The stainless will resist the rusting inside of the unit. It is ony a few dollars more. Most of this unit is plastic. Dont be afraid of this as its been plastic for many decades and is good. The ISE units are White Metal (aluminum ish stuff) and does corrode eventually. The 1/2 hp unit that came out was around 6 years old. I anticipate this will last around 4-5. 6/14/2025 I have to laugh at the level of detail that some buyers put in there reviews .Its Amazing and thankss everyone that did. This information is most important to some. Especially since there are so many vaiations of homes and sinks. That being said, My 1/3 hp unit is still running well however my next one will probably be the 1/2 HP unit. I just feel for the extra money ist best to stay with the same thing thats proven itself. Also it had more sound insulation is appears.

Like it better than my old Insinkerator!
I really like this garbage disposal! I picked this up after my Insinkerator failed. Our old disposal was installed when we bought the house. It wasn't used often because the house wasn't really "lived in" when we bought it as we're the second owners. So, I was surprised that our old disposal went out after only 4 years of use. The case started corroding and developed a sizeable hole that started leaking. Anyway, when looking for a replacement I decided I wasn't going to get another Insinkerator since after a tiny bit of research revealed the corrosion and leaking was a common problem among the Insinkerators. The only other option that was apparent was the Waste King. The reviews were honestly pretty great between the two brands but I had already been soured by Insinkerator. I decided to go with the 1/3 horsepower Waste King since I don't use the disposal for anything "big" and I wanted to get something relatively inexpensive. Installation was pretty straightforward once I got the old disposal out of the way. I opted to use the included EZ-Mount system as opposed to adapting the old 3-bolt system over. Everything that was needed to install was included in the box aside from a screwdriver and deadblow hammer. All the plumbing lined right up with my old disposal's locations so it was literally "plug-and-play". The only issue I really encountered was installing the throat in the sink. You need to get it really tight for the seals to, well... seal, and there isn't much material to get leverage on. My fingers got pretty sore trying to get the adjusting collar tight but it wasn't anything that wasn't doable. Once it was all installed everything sealed great and there were no leaks. (Well, the first time it leaked, but that was my fault, I forgot to put in a fiber gasket.) It's much, much quieter than my old disposal and much smaller, too. I've been using it pretty regularly for about a week and it has no problem with small kitchen waste. I'm sure it would struggle if you put something like bones in it but that's getting a bit ridiculous in my opinion. The only thing I'm not super excited about is the rubber throat guard. You know, the little flexible curtain piece that keeps big stuff from falling in. It seems a bit narrow for my liking. The old throat guard seemed much wider and let larger stuff in without having to really shove it in. As it is you really have to push stuff into the disposal; unless it's really small it doesn't "fall" in like I'd prefer. Just a personal thing, but something worth mentioning.

After 40+ Years of ALways Having an InSinkErator, Waste King Made Me a Convert
Growing up our home always had an InSinkErator underneath the sink. As an adult that's the brand I always bought, because it had always worked. When hubby and I bought our lovely 1949 home a decade ago there was a fairly new InSinkErator already installed and it served us adequately for ten years. Recently it gave up the ghost...and I couldn't be happier. Why? Because now I know that Waste King exists, and boy do they make an amazing garbage disposal. We had some unexpected bills earlier in the month so I was on the hunt for a bargain. I couldn't find a good deal on an InSinkErator anywhere. So, glumly, I started looking at alternate brands. One of the big box home improvement stores had this model Waste King as it's lowest-priced offering in the garbage disposal category. Thing is...it was cheapest and still had an almost perfect review rating on a sizable number of reviews. That got me to digging around and the praise for Waste King's products was both effusive (folks just raved about their products) and that praise was universal (meaning the opinion was shared by both consumer and professional alike). I headed over to Amazon Warehouse Deals and they just so happened to have a return item for $38.49 which is a steal. It arrived via Prime and I opened up the package and couldn't believe how skinny this thing was. I started to worry...how could this perform as well as that hulking mass that used to reside underneath the sink, taking up so much of the limited space that's down there. I shouldn't have worried. After a quick and painless installation process we fired it up and sent some things through to test it. Operation has been utterly flawless. It's ridiculously quiet compared to the unit it replaced. Thus far I've been unable to throw anything at it that it didn't chew right through. But I'm not the least bit worried because Waste King backs this, their entry-level unit, with a free 2-year in home replacement warranty. Yep, for the first two years if anything goes wrong they'll come out and take care of it. That right there is the sign of a company that truly believes in and stands behind their product. Stop going back and forth trying to settle on this brand or another. Buy. The. Waste. King. Now.

Works well. Holds up well over time
I was a little nervous buying our garbage disposal online as everyone I talked to said go to xxxx home store and buy brand xxxx. I gave this one a shot as it was relatively inexpensive. Installation was straight forward and fairly easy. Just hit the 6 year mark with this disposal and it's showing no signs of wear and tear. Disposal has never leaked and chews up most everything we throw at it. Occasionally an unpopped popcorn kernel sneaks into it and jams it up but that's been easy to clear out though this unit lacks a way to use a wrench from underneath to help clear the jam. It's not the quietest disposal but with a good sink gasket it hasn't been anything to complain about. You do need to be a bit selective about what you put into the disposal. Items such as vegetable peels, particularly potatoes, are generally a no no in bulk though a few here and there don't cause an issue. As this is our first and only disposal I can't say if that same rule applies to all disposals but I'm guessing that applies to most. We're happy with this unit and would but it again if necessary. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a low cost disposal.

Low cost alternative for a garbage disposal
Not the quietist disposal but it does the job. Quality parts and easy installation replacing another brand. Great deal for the cost.

Horrible mounting process/instructions
Mounting is impossible! The installation is horrible, thereโs a rubber gasket/ring you have to somehow jam up under the metal ring that clips the disposal onto the drain. My dad and I tried for over 2 hours to get it to fit properly and couldnโt. We tried YouTube videos, the manual. No clear instructions. One YouTube video, the guy said it took him an hour to figure it out but he didnโt show how it was done. Extremely disappointing. I ended up returning and just ordering one that uses 3 bolts to install. So much easier and faster.

very happy with product
We replaced the exact same model after about 9 years of service. Works great and was a snap to install. Took about 15 minutes

Great Garbage Disposer
I bought this to replace my Mainline Model 1900 1/3 horsepower garburator. It is the exact fit. The only difference is there is a plug instead of the unit being wired in, so my friend had to come over and install an outlet under the sink and wire that up to code, then he installed the unit easily. I would give the unit a 5-STAR to install except we had to install the electrical outlet first (as one did not previously exist under the sink). But once installed, the unit ran perfectly and is quite quiet!
