VTech Touch and Teach Turtle Book, Green

My 2 year old grandson loves to push buttons, and this toy has a lot of them for him to push. It's a typical learning machine for the alphabet, giving you letter names, sounds and names of animals that match the letters. He loves to dance to children's music, and it has an option for him to choose music only. He has chosen this gift several times in the last 2 days since Christmas over his racing cars and racing sets and other gifts. He brings this one over to adults and then pokes the buttons himself, or he just takes it over on the floor to play by himself with it. He repeats the animal names and the letter names and sounds and dances to the music. What more could you want?

I gave this to my grandson for Christmas because I thought it would help him learn the alphabet and his numbers. He loves this turtle. He wants to take it everywhere he goes. He plays with it often and even shares it with his older brother on occasion. He likes to listen to the sounds the animals make. And at two years old it is just the right "speed" for him...The price was more than reasonable and it is a sturdy tough toy. I would recommend this to any one with a two year old boy who thinks his toys cannot be broken.

My 14m old son loves story-book toys; however, many of them only got a couple of pages. The Vtech touch and teach turtle is the first that showed respect to my baby, who's young but still doesn't want to be treated simply. pros: so many pages, so many activities, and wonderful pictures. cons: the ? button on the head of the turtle is so attractive that my son constantly pushes it and makes it saying "Can you find the XXX?" "Can you find the XXX?" "Can you find the XXX?" "Can you find the XXX?" Then he'll burst into laughter, thinking the toy is mental. Overall, my son (and his parents) loves all the vtech products we bought!

I don't have any big complaints about this toy, I really like it and my 2yr old son liked it when I first got it out of the box. It's really cute and it came exactly how I expected it to look and it worked fine, so I was happy about that. The only thing I didn't like about it was how all the buttons at the top are supposed to correspond with the pictures underneath them but I feel like it would be a little confusing for kids his age to understand what goes with the button he pressed. I dont know if I'm making much sense with that explanation but I don't know how else to put it lol I give this toy a good review because there's nothing wrong with it, I guess I just don't like the way it's set up. I wish there were more buttons/more options for play. There's not too much to this toy but I guess they're not gonna make an intricate toy for 2yr olds, but a child's mind/creativity can go as far as you let it. I would recommend it to young toddlers but it's not the most creative toy out there is all I'm saying. Hope this helps

This is the second VTech Touch and Teach Turtle Book I have purchased. I am a teacher and have found this item to be a helpful and fun way to help prepare preschoolers with skills children now really need to know before they go to kindergarten, so I have given them to my grandchildren. The use of lights, music and the book help hold the attention of little ones as they learn about letters and numbers.

So this is actually the second time that I have purchased this product. The first time I purchased it for my cousin's son 4 or 5 years ago. This time I purchased for my own 2 year old because my cousin gave it good reviews. I think it's just ok. This toy does have a lot going on so I think it's a little overwhelming for my son. He played with it for maybe a few days but quickly lost interest. It now just sits in his room untouched. Pros: The toy is quite loud but I don't actually mind that. It's bright and colorful with pages that my child can turn and lots of buttons that he can push. He also likes toys with a musical component which this toy has. Cons: I was hoping that it would help him with his letters and numbers but it isn't doing that because he doesn't really care for it. It's annoying that you have to push the question button every time you want the toy to ask your child a question. My son doesn't remember to do that and so the toy switches to something else quite quickly. That's unfortunate because that's the kind of activity that my child likes the most. The bottom buttons are very sensitive so if your kids bumps into one of them, on the way to the right answer, the toy will tell you that you picked the wrong answer even though they knew the right answer. The pages are also hard to turn at times and tend to stick together. All in all, I'd say that this toy was just okay. I think the concept was a good one but the execution needs work. It says that it's for 2 - 5 year olds but my 2 year old doesn't care for it. I am hoping that he'll like and/or use it more when he's older. Hope this helps!

This is a replacement that I had to purchase, because our previous one was finally destroyed by my little one. What finally ended up failing was the switch on the right side that turns on the device and selects what mode for it to be on. Some reason my kid loves this switch and considers it as a toy within a toy and plays a little too rough with it. It took about a year a abuse before this switch started failing and made the toy sound like a record skipping. I consider a year for a $20 toy to be a good investment. The pages are durable and held up without tearing, and the paint and color did not fade or wear. I am very happy with this toy and was happy to buy this second one.

I got this toy for my almost 2yr old for Christmas. So far it has turned out to be a great gift. I am a little worried that she might rip one of the pages off. The pages are stiff but you know how a little can be at times. If you don't have alot of educational toys yet this would be a good one to get. It is simple but yet learning. A toy your little one can sit and play with by self after you show them what to do.

Great educational toy. Fairly durable, not too loud. Would recommend as a parent-buy or as a gift. Wouldn't spend $40+ on this

Can't comment on its performance as had bought it as a gift item. However, had seen before purchasing that it has many features, eminently suitable as a 'learning' toy.
