I dont use them much but when you need battery power in the field they sre great **Q: Are these lights good for makeup application** A: I would not recommend these lights in terms of quality of product very plastic and the light switch disconnected twice on me and had to be sent back. Being a videographer , your best lighting for makeup would probably be daylight ( as if being outside ) . These lights were very harsh and not diffused evenly. This would solve your problem . Good luck ### ⭐⭐ Cheaply Made and Impractical *by C***T on June 19, 2014* I bought these lights under a time and budget crunch. I will do my best to keep this as constructive and informative as possible. The challenges are that the power supplies are not long enough to be practical, I have yet to be able to open what I assume are battery compartments, and the stands are flimsy and awkward to use. I tried to use them to light a wall that was being used as a blue screen, but because of the limitations of the power supply and the actual throw of the panels, I was unable to do so. Beyond that, I have not found any practical use for the kit.
