Creative Beading: The Best Projects from a Year of Bead & Button Magazine: 8

I liked the book, the projects in it were nice nd several were favorites from the past year. I had other favorites from the year but that is a matter of opinion. It is nice to have the book, that way I don't have to keep all of the magazines. What is also nice is that the projects are divided into categories, such as bead weaving, wire work, etc. That makes it easier to find something I want to work on. I have all of the books so far and would get future ones. Worth the money.

I was missing this one. I have all of these in the series except the nearly-impossible Vol. 2. I am a subscriber to the magazine, but I always purchase these because they really do present the best designs of the year in a single, easily-accessible place. I will say that it was not quite in as good of a condition as the seller portrayed - it was indeed slightly bent but also there was a chunk out of the spine. I definitely recommend getting this book if you are a fan of making jewelry.

Wow, What a great edition. I have all 8 in the series, and I thought number 4 was really terrific, but THIS one is even better. I love that they also included bead color info for the various versions of a project. Excellent choices from the designs in the 2012 magazines. The book is pretty much a work of art and as always, the instructions a clear and complete.

I have most of these annuals (except out-of-print vol. 2, why not still print that one, too?), and enjoy having so many projects in one book. I have just browsed this volume, and though there are not as many projects in this one that catch my fancy as in some past volumes, I appreciate this big book, and will look through it repeatedly, as I do the past volumes.

I love this collection of beautiful and inspirational projects, articles and great ideas! The book is chalk full of some of the very best projects from Bead and Button magazine that are beautiful and easy to follow for both beginner to advanced beaders! Highly recommend this collection and hope that Bead and Button continues to put out these great volumes!

I am a keen, self-taught beader, so this book and many previous volumes add on to my projects and ideas.I am delighted with this volume and buy every volume that comes out. There is a wide choice of projects for different skills and interests, so it makes it a very versatile book for everyone.

I buy this series each year so I don't have to look for the magazines for my favorite beading projects. All 8 volumes are in one place on the shelf, and it's fun to go back and review patterns I didn't do, but intended to.

Great patterns, lots of ideas. All of these collection books are great value for money in my opinion with a good variety of types of jewellery making ideas.

This is a lovely beading book with exceptional designs and I would recommend it to any beader who loves their craft.

Es sind SO viele hübsche und tragbare Designs in dem Sammelband enthalten, die ich unbedingt nachfädeln möchte.Die Anleitungen sind jeweils gut verständlich geschrieben (natürlich muss man Englisch verstehen) und ausreichend bebildert, wie man es aus dem Magazin "Bead & Button" eben gewohnt ist. Denn dies ist ein Sammelband, der über 70 Highlights aus den 2012 erschienenen Bead & Button Heften enthält.--> Welche Art von Anleitungen und welche Techniken sind enthalten?Im ersten Teil des Buches sind Projekte zusammengestellt, die nur eine einzelne Technik erfordern. Es werden jeweils drei bis vier Projekte in den Techniken Peyote (flach und rund), Herringbone (Ndebele/Fischgrät-Stich), Right-Angle-Weave, Cubic RAW, Crossweave und Russian Spiral vorgestellt, sowie einzelne Projekte in anderen Techniken und viele, viele "Beadweaving"-Stücke, die also keiner bestimmten Technik zuordenbar sind. Auch Perlensticken und Soutache sind vereinzelt enthalten.Der zweite Teil enthält Projekte, die mehrere Techniken erfordern (hier begegnet uns wieder viel Peyote und Herringbone), bevor man sich im dritten Teil dann "anderen" Techniken zuwendet. Hier gibt es gehäkelte Stücke mit Perlen und Pailletten, Chain Mail, Wirewrapping, Metalwork und Wirework.Es steht jeweils neben dem Titel des Projekts, welche Technik verwendet wird. So kann man beim Blättern gezielt nach bestimmten Techniken suchen.Wie schon angedeutet, sind die allermeisten der Schmuckstücke tatsächlich tragbar. Manche enthalten für meinen Geschmack zu viele Glasschliffperlen und Bicones, es gibt aber auch viele, die vor allem aus Rocailles/Delicas bestehen und eher durch Raffinesse als durch Klunker glänzen.--> Ist das Buch liebevoll gestaltet und sinnvoll aufgemacht?Ja!Schon beim Durchblättern des Inhaltsverzeichnisses läuft einem das Blut in die Fingerspitzen und man möchte sofort loslegen, denn das Verzeichnis ist bereits liebevoll mit Fotos einiger der Schmuckstücke gespickt, die einen im Buch erwarten. Es gibt eine kurze Einleitung von Herausgeberin Julia Gerlach und ein Kapitel zu benötigten Werkzeugen und Materialien, bevor auf sieben Seiten die im Buch verwendeten Techniken erläutert werden. Diese Seiten sind sicherlich recht hilfreich, wenn man in der ein oder anderen Technik noch nicht sattelfest ist. In den Anleitungen steht ab und zu so etwas wie "work the center row in ladder stitch". Dann kann man vorne nachsehen, was noch mal ladder stitch war. Im Großen und Ganzen sind die einzelnen Schritte für jedes Schmuckstück aber recht ausführlich in der Anleitung selbst beschrieben.Viele der Projekte dürften daher auch für Anfänger absolut kein Problem darstellen.Ein Schwierigkeitsgrad ist jedoch jeweils nicht angegeben. Man muss also zumindest in die Beschreibung hineinlesen, um festzustellen, ob die eigenen Fädel-Fähigkeiten für ein Stück ausreichen oder nicht.--> Wer braucht dieses Buch?Ganz besonders empfehlenswert ist dieser Sammelband für FädlerInnen, die gerne die sogenannten "Off-Loom-Beadweaving"-Techniken mögen, also Peyote, Herringbone, BrickStitch etc.! DrahtzieherInnen und PerlenhäklerInnen kommen nicht so sehr auf ihre Kosten. Die Projekte mit Draht, Soutache etc. sind m.M.n. eher ein Blick über den Tellerrand, auf das, was es sonst noch so gibt, lohnen aber die Anschaffung für sich genommen nicht.Und nun entschuldige ich mich, ich habe den Fehler gemacht, für diese Rezension noch mal in das Buch hineinzublättern und muss jetzt dringend meine Perlen, Nadel und Fireline auspacken! :D

Estoy muy contenta con la compra tengo varios libros de este tipo y son muy completos explican muy bien el paso a paso y muy comprensible aunque sean escritos en ingles, lo aconsejo para personas que se dedican hacer bisuteria y quieran aprender nuevas tecnicas.

Ce livre est certainement parfait pour beaucoup, pour moi il l'est presque.Je m'explique, il est composé de modèles vraiment différents avec différentes techniques car chacun est fait par une personne différente.C'est pour cela que tous ne me plaisent pas, il y a des techniques qui ne m'intéressent pas.Mais par contre je trouve ce livre enrichissant justement à cause de cela il montre qu'il y a des tas de moyens pour faire des bijoux, et il en faut pour tous les goûts. D'ailleurs un jour je peux changer d'avis et m'intéresser à ces autre techniques, et vous aussi peut-être.C'est pourquoi je trouve que ce genre de livre qui regroupe les œuvres de plusieurs créateurs très intéressant.
