The extra investment in purchasing this product buys you a quality product.
I bought the Briggs & Riley Transcend spinner for a vacation trip to Europe. It arrived in zip time and was exactly what I wanted. It has ample storage room for my needs. It is well made, and well balanced as my partner and I wound through the various airports and streets of Firenze.I like the expandable feature, which is unobtrusive when closed, but adds a terrific amount of storage space for bringing all those things I never should have bought back to the States.I have had countless suitcases over my professional career, from clunky Samsonite hard bodies in the 80s to folding garment bags to keep my suits relatively wrinkle free. While I have had several of the latter, the zippers always give out. This product is much better made than anything I have owned in the past. Plus it is very lightweight and pushes easily. While this doesn't matter to most people, I love the fact that the handle extends so I don't have to bend over to move it (I'm 6'5").Another feature I appreciate is the handle apparatus is outside the bag itself. This looks great and (more importantly) makes packing easier, as you don't have to pack around the hardware.I cannot comment on durability, as I haven't had it for long, but, with a lifetime warranty, what's not to like? Finally, it looks sharp. Little touches, like the ID tag pocket, provide an air of class. The distinctive colors make it easy to distinguish from a host of other similar spinners.

Expensive but worth it in my opinion
This is my third case with this brand. I have the smaller carry one, and the medium checked bag version. But a longer trip to Europe had me wanting this larger checked style. I love the bag. I have taken on two long trips so far, and it carries a lot. The bag is super light, and very well made. The lifetime warranty including damage to the bag (which is to be expected with rough handling for checked bags) really works - I have taken a bag in with a ripped zipper and it was repaired. So to me this bag is worth the price and looks good.

In LOVE with the Briggs & Riley Transcend Spinner Luggage! Took on a 10-day trip - still PERFECT!
Purchased the Briggs & Riley Transcend Spinner Luggage in the Checked Medium (25-26 inch) size for a 10-day trip in Asia. Between the flights, the trains, the shuttle buses, car rides, etc., the suitcase is still in perfect condition. We especially loved the VX expansion system (basically velcro) because it made the case feel much more sturdy than the flimsy zipper expanders and we were able to adjust how much to expand. The new compression system in the Baseline luggage seems like an even better execution, but at $100+ more, we were perfectly happy with the Transcend line. We are sad to see that Transcend might be discontinued. We are now looking to purchase the Large size for an even longer trip next year. As someone who has spent hundreds on other luggage (Samsonite, Victorinox, Ricardo, etc.), I could have bought Briggs and Riley pieces all along instead of going through the revolving door of lower quality and less functional pieces. Make the upgrade! You won't regret it!!

Quality Briggs & Riley!!!
The transcend medium piece I purchased was the older model; I was able to obtain a great price and love the Briggs & Riley quality products. The older piece has the expandable option in the front of the bag via a zippered option unlike the new designed piece which allows you to expand the piece inside the suitcase in a new, innovative way. I was concerned that the expansion part might cause the bag to "tip over"; which it actually did on my last trip. However, I still consider it a super great bag. The packing capacity is big for the size. I would have gotten the newer version, but I didn't feel that I could justify the higher cost of the newer model with how much I travel (a few trips a year). Superb quality from Briggs & Riley.

Mostly a good bag.
I ordered this bag along with a handful of others in a quest to replace my carry on luggage. For years I have been using a Dash carry on bag that I impulsively purchased from a Brookstone store on a layover in Denver. The Dash bag has been absolutely great for me and has been my primary (nearly exclusive) bag for many years now, but was starting to come apart. I was seeking a bag that could fit as a carry on for most flights, but expand larger (and be checked, if needed). My travel needs are work and pleasure, for trips typically ranging from long weekends to two weeks. In general I really liked this bag and was really tempted to keep it. It appeared to be well made and had some nice pockets and features that I appreciated. I liked the overall look and design of the bag. I did not actually use this bag outside of my house so as to make sure I could return it, but did load it with clothes for a week-long work trip and the bag fit everything nicely with the expansion system. The reasons I ultimately ended up returning the bag are several: 1) Unlike the bag I kept (Away Bigger Carry On), this one could only be returned in an unused state. This makes it pretty hard to truly see how the bag will work for you. I also had to pay $24 to cover the return shipping costs. 2) While I loved the concept of the internal expansion system instead of the external zipper, I anticipated that I would have ended up constantly messing with the velco expansion system. Unless the bag was fully expanded, it was hard to get the two sides of the bag even. I think the expansion/compression system on the Baseline versions would have been much nicer, but I was not willing to pay that much money. 3) Although I did not personally get a chance to use this outside the home so have not direct experience with it, reading other reviews that said the bag was prone to tipping over made me decide to send it back. 4) Not a super big deal, but would add that the color of the bag ended up looking much more grey/black than the green I had anticipated. I try to avoid buying black/grey luggage because they are too difficult to distinguish from everyone else's bags.

Excellent and light weight
I only buy briggs and Riley suitcases and have for more than a decade. Children all have them as well. They travel well and the warranty is absolutely the best.

Lifetime Guarantee and big enough for 3 to 4 weeks away for business travelling
Usually I stick to just carry on bags, but for longer trips, needed 4 wheels for airport transits & train to hotel walks. Also I regret not bringing more food and gifts last year from Japan, Korea and Malaysia so I needed to "go large" on my suitcase.

Love this suitcase. It is my fifth one to date. Briggs and Riley are outstanding at taking care of repairing any damage caused by the airlines.

Good quality suitcase, wrong color
The suitcase description said this is a gray suitcase, but I received a red one (which is the color from the photos). I did not bother returning it and it has served me well on its first trip.
