Almost 5/5
Very easy to set up and screw to garage door jamb. Can select PIN number from 3 to 8 digits. Only minor design niggles with this product:* It's easy to make a mistake when entering your code. If you hit the buttons too fast, it goes nuts and starts flashing the red LED. You then have to wait a few seconds and start again.* There is no visual indication that you have entered the correct PIN; only when you enter an incorrect one.* No visual indication that the 30s 'any button will open the door' timeout is still active.* I haven't tried this yet, but from the user guide it seems that in order to program a new PIN code, you need to clear the old one, set a new one and then re-program your garage door opener as if it was a new remote. I plan on changing the PIN regularly, so that will be a pain, since the door opener can only remember 7 remotes. After only a couple of PIN changes, this means I'll have to reset the door opener and reprogram all 5 of my remotes.* Anyone that knows how to program one of these units can clear your old PIN code (but obviously can't re-program your door opener to accept it, because they can't get into your garage). If I was a bored teenager and I saw one of these stuck to someone's house, I'd go and clear the PIN number just for kicks.

Flawless
I have a Genie intellicode opener that was installed around 2003. In the last few years my old keypad would go through the battery in about three or four months. I only use the keypad, maybe once or twice a week, so I would disconnect the battery after every use. A couple of months ago the old keypad just stopped working completely, the backlight would not even work when pushing the buttons. I ordered this replacement. It came quickly, and was super easy to program, and install. It took me about 90 seconds to program the keypad to my opener, mostly due to the fact that it took about 60 seconds to remove the light cover on my unit, in order for me to get to, and push, the “ learn” button. Then I changed the factory PIN. That took about 30 seconds. I could not be happier with this unit. Hopefully, it will give me years of trouble free use.

You need this!
Lets see there have been a couple of times I was working around the house and locked myself out. sometimes I go for a bike ride and do not want to take my garage opener with me or keys, I solved the problem by getting this. It installed pretty easy (although I had someone do it for me). If you do not want to carry keys with you when you go for walks or a bike ride get this. It also came in handy when I was out of town and needed a friend to get something for me out of my garage. I just gave them the code to the garage and did not have to give them the key to my house. You can always change the password to this. When you use it, you do have to wait like 30-60 seconds for it to be securely closed. If you press any buttons between 1-60 seconds it will open or close your garage, I believe this is a safety feature. Glad I added this to my house

Easy to Program and Install
As promised, easy to program and install. We only have two remotes for two garage doors and it is a pain to move the remotes from one car to another. This solves the problem and can be used by a house guest or someone when they house sit instead of having to leave a house key.It also has a really cool function that allows you to program a temporary pass code which can be used by a visitor while you are away and then once you return and punch in your master code that temporary code goes bye-bye. That is a nice function if you have someone like a plumber visiting the house while you are away.I just bought another for my other garage door. I opted for two exterior remotes as they do run on a 9V battery, meaning at any time they could conk out leaving you out in the cold if this is your only method to get in the house. I figure two external remotes will solve that potential problem. You can buy Genie remotes that will open two or three different doors from one remote however, I think its well worth $25.00 for the piece of mind that dual remotes will provide.Should have bought this years ago. A must have for anyone with garage doors.

Well worth the purchase
Setup was simple, and I attached it to the side of my garage door jam in minutes. No more carrying around a remote to open and close the door. The buttons are large enough to hit with gloves on in the winter, and they light up when pressed, so you know if it registered or not.The only problem I have is every so often it does not register the numbers correctly. The number pad blinks fast when it doesn't register, so you know when it is confused. All you have to do is wait a few seconds for it to stop blinking and either re-enter the code or hit the open/close button again. My kids have no problems using it after we all learned of this behavior issue. For the price I am very happy with this product. The ease of setup and install were well worth it getting confused once in a while.

Different model sent without informing the customer.
Paid for a GWKPD but was sent a Genie 37224R model which was sold at a lower price compared to the GWKPD. Had to confirm compatibility with Preferred Garage Doors who was unable to confirm whether Genie 37224R needed to be converted to Intellicode 1 or not to communicate with my older Genie motor. Was able to connect it to the motor without doing the steps outlined by others re converting newer Intellicode 2 to Intellicode 1 just by following the printed instructions on the new unit. The Genie had confirmed that there was no need to do conversion. The unit worked well. One star was deducted for a lack of transparency re different model and no credit for the lower price.
