Nestle has resumed its production of one of the limited local edition series "Momiji Manju" flavor for Hiroshima. Hiroshima is probably famous worldwide for the sad history, but there are many other features that make you happy. The Momiji Manju is one of them. This special kit kat is co-produced by famous Momiji Manju shop Takatsu Do, the first shop that created and started selling the Momiji Manju in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima back in 1906. A Wagashi craftsman Takatsu invented a momiji (Japanese maple leaf) -shaped manju based on an half-joking idea coming out of former Prime Minister Hirobumi Ito who often visited Miyajima in Hiroshima. Once gone from the market with the death of the first Takatsu, it was revived by the 3rd Takatsu 2009. Since then, Momiji Manju of Takatsu is one of the most popular gifts to buy when people visit Hiroshima. Nestle, of course, didn't miss it. They couldn't.
