This is a very good kit. If you are a Novice to somebody who is wanting to get more involved in the safety of your fish and learning the some of the technical aspects of keeping your water taken care of then this is the kit for you. The first few times you use the kit, I would recommend giving yourself a little extra time to go over the instructions to make sure your doing the testing properly. Will give you an accurate read, and save you a trip to your local pet store to talk to an employee who may or may not know what they are doing with a test kit themselves. If you have any questions, check out their forum or contact customer service. They were more than glad to help, and explained things so it was easy to understand.

We purchased this test kit and it contains the basic tests for what was needed for our freshwater aquariums. We test 5 tanks regularly at home, when we used to take samples all the way to the fish store. The instructions are very easy and we get results within minutes.The peace of mind that your pets are ok is worth buying quality and reliable brand like NutraFin.

Provides the basic tests you need for cycling an aquarium, and maintaining nitrates thereafter. While it's not as accurate as a more "hobbyist" kit, it is a great kit to start to familiarize yourself with testing, and accurate enough for livestock safety. The instructions are rather straight forward, and the color charts more or less match the actual colors produced by the reagents. If you test weekly, this will last at least 6 months or more, which is a great value when you are starting out in the hobby as well. When checking colors, it is a bit easier to hold the bottom against something white and look down the tube for comparison, rather than the side, as the glass tubes change the color a bit (quite common with all testing kits).

I purchased these after getting inaccurate ammonia readings from my API kit (and finding it highly recommended). Aside from ammonia, the other tests always correlate with my API, and even the ammonia is only off on occasion (after using prime, maybe?). Anyway, it's a nice kit, but the test tubes are annoying. What idiot thought it best to use rounded bottomed tubes? Irritating that you can't set the thing down for a minute without a rack large enough to hold the tube. When I use the kit, I use it with my API tubes. For the price, I'm sticking with API once the Nutrafin one is out.

If you are someone with more then one tank it is definitely a good idea to purchase two extra testing tubes. The product itself is very good and reliable but seems kind of silly that they would only give you two tubes for four parameters.

Good kit and accurate. Saved some money here compared to most places that have this on sale.

Great little test kit. All the major markers

This does exactly what it says on the bottles! The price was very reasonable and the box contains everything you need, with clear instructions. Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH tests are included, along with two test tubes and a dropper for collecting the water and adding to the tubes. It's helped us monitor the health of our new tank, saving us £1.50 a time for the water tests at our local aquarist.
