Easy install, clean look.
Broan Sahale 30" Black Range Hood (BKSH130BL)This model has two "micromesh" filters, EZ brackets, and two bulbs included, whereas the BKSA130 has one "open mesh" filter, no EZ brackets, and the halogen bulbs must be purchased separate (at least according to the manufacturer site). Those are the obvious differences, anyway.Easy to set up, hang and install, although I did almost drop it at one point. A second set of hands is recommended when hanging this little 20lb hood.Wiring was pretty simple, although I did manage to mess it up a few times (wired before putting through hole, and again without adding the strain relief). I used a dishwasher cord from lowes because they didn't have the listed one, it was a bit cheaper, and had everything I needed included (plus it was rated for the same kind of load). Ended up not even using the strain relief because once it's installed I can't access the screws, and I didn't have a second person to hold it while I tightened them.I installed it in the ductless configuration. For that, you need to remove three little (really torqued down) screws and a cover, which reveals an opening with louvers that is slightly in-set (to account for the thickness of the cover piece). The louvered opening sits about 13" from the back of the hood, so if your cabinets come out farther you'll have to either use the ducted configuration or engineer your own solution. The rather large axial fan is very quiet on low, and while loud on high it's entirely tolerable. Even on high, though, it can't quite handle the volume of steam you get from a large pot boiling water (say, for noodles), however it should handle grease and smoke from frying eggs and bacon just fine. For the lights, I used two Philips GU10 LED bulbs. They do flicker when on low, but they are very bright on both low and high (photo shown is on high setting with can ceiling lights also on) and produce much less heat, so I'm happy with them.Note: the switches tend to move into the neutral (low) position as the hood is handled (either in packaging or while you're putting it together), so when you wire it up and plug it in (if the breaker is on) the fans and lights will spin up unless you switch them off first. ;)Minor nits: would be nice if the louvered opening was a bit more finished with the cover removed (not a big deal because it's not visible usually). Protective film on the filter frame was installed under the springs in the back, so I had to cut it out.

Two light settings are great - looks great and does a good job!
I love this range hood. I recently replaced all of my kitchen appliances with stainless and it matches perfectly. The ability to have a great light in the kitchen on the low setting at night, but be able to increase the brightness when cooking is a great feature. Same thing with the fan. Mine is not vented to the outside, however with the charcoal filters, I've been able to cook bacon and not have the smell permeate throughout the house. (Although the smell of bacon is great - it's a testament to how well the filters work when installed..) Great purchase - I would recommend.

Quality Product
The range hood was easy to install and its performance is much better than the previous Broan model I replaced. The only option that would have been nice to have included is the charcoal inner filter. One feature that really is better than the previous model is the inside vent which now actually blows out past the cabinets and not under them. Good product and quality for the price.

Why the light doesn't on low switch
Great range hood, but the light does not work on low. Just high. Not sure what's going on.

I had never installed something like this before and I was a little intimidated
I bought this product to replace an old, crusty range hood in my house. I had never installed something like this before and I was a little intimidated. I liked this model because it matched my oven and was sleek and clean. The installation took longer than expected, simply because i kept second guessing myself on the electrical portion. In fact, it was fairly easy. The hardest part was holding the hood in place on the cabinet with one shoulder and drilling the screws in with my other hand. Once I had several screws in, the rest were a breeze. Once installed, the fan is quiet and efficient. I especially like the two levels of brightness for the light. I would definitely recommend this product!

terrible to install
I bought this to replace an older Broan Hood thinking it would be easy and quick. However, the mounting holes are in different places than the old hood. We had 2 drill holes in the top so the mounting screws would have wood to hit. The top is such thin metal the hood sags and leaves a gap between it and the front of the cabinets. One of the light bulbs was loose in the box and broken so I had to put a new bulb in. The entire hood is much liter overall than the old hood so it is just a cheap hood. The instructions said it is a one man installation but it was difficult for the two of us and we both have installed multiple hoods. Doubtful I will ever buy another Broan Hood.

It works wonderful for me
This range hood works great and the only bad thing, was one of the halogen lights that was out. I called amazon and they worked things out with me.Here are some pictures showing the suction. I used toilet tissue and you can see one piece of tissue just flat completely on the mesh grill and it is because is on level two which is the higher and the one that is kinda hanging is level one, which is lower.I bought a 250 CFM because it goes with my 30” inches stove. The rule for the right size range hood is here below: A range hood fan should move a minimum of 100 CFM of air for every 12 inches of stove width. This means that if you have a stove that is 30 inches wide then you need a range hood with a fan that rotates at least 250 CFM of air. This is only for a regular kitchen, but I think for bigger kitchen such as an island, you need more CFM.Hope this is helpful :)

Great product for the price range!
We just had a new kitchen installed, we purchased this in the black. My husband said it was easy to install. The lighting is fantastic, it's a warmer tone, not bright white. Pleasantly surprised with the suction. Great product for the price range. My only complaint is the hood came with a scratch on it. It's installed fairly high, so I'm probably the only one who will notice.

Just OK
Just OK for a stainless unit. Come with Halogen lights and they are damn hot and the buttons are mecanical...it's an old technology unit. Seek for more CFM if you are looking for one.
