Wigwam At Work Durasole Pro 2-Pack S1349 Sock

As I get older, I ponder some items we use daily, and why we chose to buy them.. Why do the majority choose to sleep on a $15 pillow or buy cheap shoes? Why do we spend more on electronics and toys, when we don't use them all this time, but sacrifice on items like pillows, shoes and socks? I have no clue. But I decided to buck the trend, and start shelling out good money for quality products that I use on a daily basis. First thing I did was buy some good pillows.. you know the $80-$100 price range dudes. After sleeping much better, I thought about what other things I skimp on, when buying. Socks. Yes.. socks. We wear them most days (hippies don't), and yet I think the majority buy cheap brands like Hanes or Champion. You know, the ones you pick up at Target or Wallmart, that always give you a bonus 2 pair! They usually run about $10 for 8-10 pair of socks. What I am trying to tell you is, they are cheap! They usually aren't made very good, and after a month or so of washing, become thin and just are a sad shell of their glory days when they were brand new. So I started looking on amazon for socks. Since I am obsessed with amazon, I started searching and reading reviews for socks. I actually filtered by "highest price first", and of course amazon prime. I found these Wigwam's, and since I have used the brand before with hiking socks, I decided to give these a try. One I got them, you could immediately notice the quality difference between these, and the other cheaper brands. They seemed like they were engineered for feet, and not just sock puppets (I miss you lamb chop). Once putting them on you could feel where you spend the extra money. They are soft, and well padded. They aren't your typical "white" socks, they are an off white, maybe eggshell, with grey soles. I don;t really care about the color, so this didn't distract me from buying them. The elastic holds up well, and doesn't seem to stretch out of shape. I went and ordered 5 more lots of these after a month of wearing them. I tossed out all my old socks, and now have a sock drawer of happy Wigwams. I also ordered the "Carhartt Men's Traditional Sll-Season Steel-Toe Cotton Work Sock", and gave them the same month long trial as the Wigwam's. While comfortable, I liked the design and comfort of the Wigwam better. Pros: - Nice, heavy duty sock - Quality Product, you can see and feel the difference - Very comfortable Cons: - Pricier then your run of the mill B&M shop's socks (Hanes/Champion/etc.) - Not White (eggshell/offwhite in color)

I am somewhat of a sock skeptic. I've bought socks everywhere from Target to REI. I'm not looking for style in socks, I just want to keep my feet warm, protect it when hiking, and last more than a few uses. I've never heard of Wigwam socks, but the reviews looked good, and I got them. I love them. First things first. The soles of the socks are thick and tough. If you wear a work boot, motorcycle boot, or hiking boot, you know you want the soles strong, to prevent blisters, and just because you don't want to be wasting money. And I enjoy wearing these socks around the house in winter. Warm feet make me happy. They aren't 100% cotton. Here's the thing about cotton, it holds sweat. Not good for your feet, and the rubbing can cause blisters. Well made synthetics, like these socks, wick away moisture keeping your feet healthier, warmer and more comfortable. I'm buying some more. They may be the only socks I wear.

First time ever trying a Wigwam product and I will tell ya I'm impressed. I'm a very thrifty shopper and always look for the cheapest socks out there because socks are socks right? Wrong! I got so tired of the heal of my cheap socks ripping or one of my toes sticking out the top from a tear. So I started searching Amazon and came across these Wigwam Men's At Work DuraSole socks. Still a great value but much more than I usually spend. After several weeks of wearing, I don't even want to take them off. These are my all time favorite and I just bought a few more pairs. I work in a warehouse and I'm always standing on concrete floors, these are thick and comfortable. My feet haven't been aching like they usually do and the socks are holding up great, very durable.. NO HOLES! I would recommend.

These socks fit snug and they don't stretch out of whack while wearing them. They grip well to the foot and leg, and are comfortable. Not as cushy as I would like but well enough to make them a worthwhile purchase. Better than the "Head" brand which stretch out of shape while wearing. Also, a big plus is that the toe seam is so well sewn, it doesn't get in the way of my toes when putting on my shoes. Other socks' toe seams will cause a feeling like there's a hard string or clump between your toes and your shoe; these don't.

The hierarchy of things to never go cheap on are as listed: 1) Beds 2) Shoes 3) Socks 4) Flashlights I decided to never buy a good bargain bed about 5 years ago and followed closely with shoes, sock and most recently flashlights. Here is my reasons for paying so much for good stuff. Buying a bed is a good example. A good gel memory foam mattress or sleep number bed or any high end conventional mattress set will set you back about $2000. Most claim a warranty of 10-15 years. Let’s assume the low end of that (10 years). That works out to about 3650 days which works out to approximately $0.55/day. HOLY HELL, I would pay $0.55/day for a lot less back pain. Think about that stuff!!!!! Socks and shoes are no different. I have gotten to where I only buy Asics or Saucony shoes. I am experimenting with different name brand socks and these have impressed me so far. Thick, unlike the 10 pairs for $8 at Wal-Mart. I would burn through those in about year and they would start getting religious (wholly) long before that. I haven’t gotten to test how these socks work in the summer with hot sticky days, but am really looking forward to it. These WigWam socks feel good right out of the package and gave me that warm and fuzzy by how thick they are. I enjoy them and think most people would.

High quality. Comfortable. Use daily. Fit is excellent.

My husband was lamenting tonight that he had a hole in his sock. I thought I’d gotten them on Amazon way back whenever, so I looked them up. Y’all- it was May of 2011. Those socks lasted him nearly 15 years! Needless to say, I ordered another him another set. lol

Love the material these are made of. Not your typical cotton sock. Warm and comfortable. Quality product. A bit more expensive than I'm used to paying for (at retail dept. stores) but worth it. Update: I bought six pairs that arrived Dec 11 2013. It is now Feb 7th, 2014 and at least one pair has a hole around the seam in the toe area. Apparently they can no longer be returned and refunded. (That expired a week ago, Jan 31st 2014). So, my original rating of 5 stars falls to 3 and my previous claim of "quality product" is dubious. Cheap socks at least wear over time. These have been worn maybe 8 times and are coming apart at the seams. Hopefully this is just a "dud pair" and the others will hold up. But it's a little frustrating. Wigwam, if your listening: Man up and send me a new pair.

These are simply THE BEST SOCKS THAT MONEY CAN BUY. I have pairs that lasted NEARLY A DECADE, in heavy rotation! "Accept No Substitutes, Wigwam are the BEST"
