watch vid Beautiful!!!!!
Watch video. Lay out facing them all going up(front). If they go downwards the are backwards. For all thirty piece it's. First row 5Second row: 5Third row: 10 (lay out horizontal first, vertical second then repeat till ten layer out)Fourth row: 5Fifth row:5Go clockwise. Watch a video it makes it soooo much easier so no one has to say it is frustrating cause it isn't.Buy the changing colored light and hanging cord with it is beautiful.

Mind bending time suck. Emphasis on "suck".
Want a cool looking hanging lamp shade? Have endless time and patience? You came to the right place! This hopelessly complicated geometry project requires you to assemble 30 identical plastic pieces in a mind-bending pattern. May or may not be physically impossible. Guaranteed to frustrate and make you feel stupid, no matter your education level.Edit: I eventually got it put together without any YouTube help after taking it all apart and starting over after a cool-down period. It is challenging to put together and the hooks pop out as you try to finish it off. Re-opening it to put in the light bulb threatens to pop several joints. It does look cool and it would probably be a lot easier to do a second time.I'll echo another reviewer that even at $10-15 it is a little expensive for what it is - a stack of 30 identical plastic sheet cut outs that you have to assemble yourself. I mean, it must be even cheaper to make than a deck of playing cards because they're all exactly the same. No way the production costs are more than $1.

Not For Puzzle Haters
I bought this because I liked the look of it, not because I enjoy puzzles. I'm one of those guys who can never figure out how to get the interconnected ring puzzles disconnected. I can't get the twisted together nail puzzle separated. I can't stand jigsaw puzzles. I admit I'm a puzzle failure, but I figured I could muddle through this.I almost threw this thing away before I finally managed to find a Youtube video that explained it properly. Most of them are just some person putting them together at light speed with annoying music and no verbal instruction. I still had to take it apart several times to finish it. The trick for me was to complete the lower section, then use a pen to mark the "bottom" of the sphere. This gave me reference on the rest of the sphere to make sure I didn't add sections in the wrong locations, which lead to the "sphere" looking more like a boat with a bunch of holes in the hull than a sphere.I also think this is a little pricey for what it is... it's a bunch of plastic stamped in one single shape. I suspect the bill of materials for this item is about a buck. But it is certainly eye catching.

Good Value - A Little Challenging Even With The Video
I purchased one of these several years ago, pre-assembled. At some point in the year I took it down and it came apart. With no instructions it was nearly impossible to put back together. I searched the internet for a replacement and found this to be a viable option.I utilized the cord and light from my previous lamp for this one. I gave it to my 15 year old son to put together with the instructions and a link to the video they provide. I believe it took him about 45 minutes with help from me about every 5 minutes.Apparently these are made in several different sizes or by different manufacturers. This one was about 4" smaller than the previous one I owned. I believe this was a good value and the instructions were sufficient (with the video link). This item was as described, I just didn't realize the size difference. This shade was one of the smaller available. I think I would have purchased the larger version as with more pieces you can make more sizes and shapes of lamp. The larger kits could make a huge variety of different lamp shapes and it was not a whole lot more expensive than this shade.Be sure to use a fairly bright light inside this shade unless you are looking for just a little accent light. The shade itself causes the light to be much less bright than many shades.

I love this. This looks amazing
I love this. This looks amazing. It took me 3 hours to put it together. At one point, I just sat and laughed. It was challenging and fun for me. I am 60. There is no cord with it so you have to purchase one. I used an Ikea product HEMMQ and the E327 led bulb recommended by Ikea.I would recommend searching YouTube for a video that speaks to you. I viewed a few before I found one that I understood. This is in my living room, when I come home and hit the light switch, it lights up the room with a gentle light. If I am sitting under the lamp, I can read my Kindle paper white easily. I recommend this to anyone looking for something a bit different. Have fun!

Puzzle lamp looks cool, NOTE that it comes with all German instructions and a cable for EU outlets only
The puzzle light itself is very cool, and we managed to get it put together without too much grumbling. It might help that my boyfriend and I are both engineers - if you generally have trouble with puzzles or spatial relations, I can see this lamp being VERY frustrating to assemble. The part that really ticked me off is that it came with all German instructions, and a cable that will only plug in to European outlets! This was NOT at all indicated in the product description, and would be good to know ahead of time. I'll be purchasing a separate light cable so that we can actually use this as a lamp.Overall it's not a bad price for what you get, but keep in mind that you will need a separate light cord set if you have US style outlets.

Works great a year later. Once all the way together it stays together.
So this thing was an utter pain to put together. It took me forever to do it. But I knew that going in from the reviews. But with you tube I was able to put it together in the shape that I wanted. We have had it for a year now and it still works great. It hasn't fallen apart or come apart in any way while hanging up. Putting the cord with light bulb in are easy once you get it together and then it stays together well. I am very satisfied with this product.

Oh, I LOVE...
These are remarkable lights. Plan on buying more. Came with directions, easy to follow, and quickly assembled. I purchased the cord and special light to go along with this light fixture. It is truly going to be a statement piece in my grand-daughters bedroom.

Not easy to assemble!
Once done I'm really happy with this products, looks good but I had to watch many YouTube Video to be able to assemble it! The instructions sent with the products are completely useless and incomprehensible. I finally found a video with a guy that has put numbers on each piece which helped me a lot! I recommend to buy this puzzle lamp only if you have a lot of time and... patience!
