MorrellTargets Archery Target Face for Field Point Shooting Practice, 34" x 34"

Love this target. I waited this long to review it because I wanted to see how much abuse it could take. Damn have I abused it. I shot indoors at 10 yards for the first 2 months with a 2021 Bear Whitetail Legend (single cam) pulling 55 lbs. Thank goodness the weather broke and I was able to move it outside. I had already begun to shoot out the center from the front and back. Still loved it. Been outside shooting at it for the past 2 months and I can officially say that the center is completely blown out. Yet I still love it. Now that my skills with a bow have returned and I'm able to shoot out to 40-50 yards the center does well enough to stall momentum if I miss where I'm actually aiming. Which is not the center. This lil target is still kicking #$@. Even when I buy another Morrell target I'm still gonna keep this one on the range.

Great quality

I bought this for my 84 year old father because mice ate his old filled target. This is super light weight, mice won't eat it, can be used a lot. Only problem was the arrow went in far and was extremely hard to pull out. I have a pretty good grip and was having to give it 110% to get an arrow out. I got the double D puller and to my surprise my dad was able to pull the arrow himself. I was expecting broadheads to shred the target but was very pleased how little damage they were doing. Which is good because they shoot much different than target/field arrows.

Stops my 400 fps crossbow. But arrows do pull hard. Would easily be a 5 star if arrows didn’t pull so hard

I got this to recover my grandaughter's target after we pretty much punched out the bullseye on the original cover. Yeah, she is that good, I think she is better than I am. The coloring on this cover is great and the layout of the target itself is the same dimensions as the one my granddaughter uses in competition. This is now a good-as-new target for her to keep practicing on at home with. For those DYI people out there - I read on line and found that there are a lot of people building their own targets using the high density spray foam you get to seal up cracks in houses and such. I shoved the dispensing straw deep in the center of where the bullseye used to be, moved it to different areas in the loose areas, and emptied it. We then I put this cover over the front side, laid the target on it's back and put a board and a cinder block on top of it and left it over night. We tested it out the next day. The bolts (arrows) she launched into it with her Genesis competition bow (approx. 20lb draw) went in enough to stay. The target held the bolts just fine. I tried it with my Martin Alder (20lbs draw) and had the same penetration and hold. I tried it with my 70lb compound bow, It penetrated a little deeper, but did not go as deep as we expected and held the bolts just fine. The cover held up to all of this testing, it seems to slightly close back over the holes a little. I recommend this cover for recovering, or even building a custom DIY target.

The media could not be loaded. I have shot a lot of Block layered targets in the past and they never performed. My arrows would blow through and damage my fletchings. I needed something that would actually stop my arrows. Something that wouldn't have pass throughs and damage my fletchings. This target didn't give me any pass throughs on my Compound bow or Crossbow. Honestly, it surprised me how it didn't have any pass throughs and it was easy to pull arrows because I'm shooting higher speeds with my bows. Especially, shooting at 350 FPS. That's the biggest reason I am giving it 5 stars for my review.Secondly, I can shoot all of my arrow tips. I usually shoot nothing but field tips because I only tune my broadheads right before I go out to hunt. So, not only does it stop my field tips easily, it stops all of my broadheads easily. Including both of my expandable and fixed blade broadheads. I'm super happy about this. It's just convenient.Thirdly, the pricing is middle of the road. Like I said in my video, it's not the cheapest or the most expensive product and I feel like I'm getting the quality of a higher end target.Also, since I made the video I've put several hundred shots into it and it seems to be holding up great. It should last a long time. Time will tell but it has already topped any layered foam target I have ever shot previously and that says everything I need to know.So the final question.... would I recommend this target? Absolutely. I'll be buying again!

Excellent target! I shoot an older Golden Eagle Carbine Hawk Compound Bow with an 80 lb. draw that shoots an arrow 300+ FPS and the target does an outstanding job stopping the arrows! The picture on the right I shot an arrow at each Bull's Eye from the the following distances: 10 yds, 20 yds, 30 yds, 40 yds and 50 yds. As you can see the arrows only penetrated the target 6-7 inches. The picture on the left, all 6 arrows were shot from 100 yds and they penetrated about 6 inches into the target. The arrows take a little bit of strength to pull out but that is to be expected if the target is going to stop an arrow with that much force. But really not that difficult to pull out. Prior to using this target, my arrow was shooting through two bales of straw and a 1/2" sheet of plywood backstop.

I mounted the Morrell 36" Face target onto a Big Boy 36" x 36" target backstop using golf tee's through the grommet's in all four corners. Literally have shot hundreds of arrows into the face and it's standing up very well.I suspect the yellow and red will fade in time as those color's always do, but I plan to cover both the face and Big Boy target backer to prevent premature deterioration from the elements. The target face heals well after removing the arrows.The face arrives folded up. Plan on unpacking and allowing it to lay out flat, to reduce original stretch when the folds straighten out. After that I'm sure it's very stable for size. This weather resistant face beat's paper target's, hands down! It's big, so it's easy for an old man to see and also hard to miss.
