A rough book for rough work.
These have a nice, rugged, tactile feel to them and the paper has a nice texture that takes graphite and coloured pencil well (though graphite smudges very easily). Also ok for rough watercolour sketches at a pinch if you don't mind the paper buckling and the paint drying a little unevenly. The paper does however have a slightly industrial, "school paper" feel about it - your hands come away a little dusty from the loose fibres - so overall, it feels like one I'll be happy to fill with rough scribbles, but just falls short of being my perfect sketchbook for work I want to take care over. If a Moleskine is the David Niven of sketchbooks this is more like the Oliver Reed.

You can paint on both sides, colour wont bleed through! Not so great for pencil tho.
I love the size and shape of these sketch books. The pages are slimmer than a5 but the same hight , and the book has lots of pages so is lovely and thick. You can paint / ink on both side of the same piece of paper and the colour won't bleed through, just what i was looking for. The only minus for this book is that the paper is not that nice to draw on for me, the paper seems to get imprinted easily, but this might be because of my heavy handed drawing style. And as I got the books to practice paint and ink, this isn't too much of an issue.

Quality all the way
I wanted to fill a notebook with sketches and text for my granddaughter. Whilst always meant to be a bit of fun, it was important that neither sketches nor text leaked through. I’ve used Derwent Inktense for the colours in the drawings along with various fineliners and a variety of inks and pens for the text. There has been absolutely no leakage at all. The pages fold flat extremely well as they are stitched which is just right for this sort of project. The pages are slightly creamy on colour and feel lovely. I can highly recommend these notebooks. Just the job!

Brilliant good at a great price.
I really love this product. I am using this as a sketch book journal where I am writing, drawing ad painting. I have used watercolours and there has been a little paper distortion but perfectly acceptable. I have found some pens take a little longer to dry on the paper but otherwise good. The only down side is that it was narrower than I expected but that is just Arteza sizes and just me. Overall would defiantly recommend.

Ok but not fantastic
Liked the size and light weight of this book. However the binding isn’t great and the paper is a bit absorbent so not great for watercolour
