Excellent starter kit at a great price!
I ordered the set for my wife. It's a very nice starter set and tool look to be good quality. Very pleased with variety of tools. Unlike many other beginner kits, this one includes a book with tool descriptions and some bacic uses. The proper names allow you to search for online videos for specific tool uses. This is a great starter set at a great price!

Great Leather Tool Kit
Bought for my husband because he wanted to start leatherworking as a hobby. The only downside was the lack of a case. I could have bought a different one with a case, but these items seemed to be of better quality. We found a carry box at Harbor Freight that fit everything perfectly.

Nice set to start with, lots of tools you won't use.
Great set to get started in leathercraft. My only problem is that as I became more experienced I noticed that there were quite a fee tools that I wasn't ever going to use. Also some of the tools were of somewhat poor quality and I had to get better quality tools and there were some tools I found I needed that weren't included but overall a great starting point.

Fab set turns beginners into experts!
Bought this as a gift for my guy. Although he’s very artistic, he had never worked with leather. As soon as he began using this set, the results were amazing! The tools are good quality especially considering the price! Great value for the money fs. He’s created many beautiful pieces and is so happy with this gift! If you’re considering this kit as a gift, buy it! I promise you’ll be glad you did.

Much larger than expected. Great surprise!
For the price, I expected a much smaller package, but this is huge! The scissors are cheap, but the rest worked perfectly. Loved the variety and grateful the sharp items were given extra covering when opening. Cuts were easy and clean even on a curvy project. Super easy to use. Exactly what I needed to help try my hand at molding a leather headpiece. I did use an exact knife for the more detailed cuts.

Beginner in leathercraft
So I'm a beginner in leather crafting and just decided to get this kit for simplicity's sake, since it was a lot of items for not that shabby of a price. Overall I like the kit. Right now I'm working on my third leather piece since getting this kit. I have two complaints so far, which are not a big deal but pretty annoying when you really think about them: 1. the booklet it comes with was one of the things that drew me in, but it's actually mostly useless. Three pages are devoted to describing every single tool in every single other leathercrafting kit they sell, in addition to the page on this kit. Marketing ploy? Maybe. Page 5 and 6 give extraordinarily vague and totally useless "steps" to make a leather wallet and finish a product. Literally all it does is give you some vague idea of how to use the tool to do a thing. You could learn 10,000x as much if you just watch one youtube crafting video or read one online article about leather crafting tools. The next few pages have slightly more words and are slightly more helpful (still just describing the tools), but loads of the photos depict items not included in this kit, or versions that are often different and superior to what's in the kit. The only page I found really useful for how to actually DO something is the 14th and final page, which explains the extremely confusing caps, sockets, studs, and posts - partly because all the youtube videos I've watched on how to install these are kind of unclear or use different ones. So I don't like that the booklet is called "Leather Crafting Book: Step-by-Step Techniques for Beginners." They should rename it something more like "Leather Crafting Tool/Kit Guide." Because I thought it was going to actually teach me how to complete a few little projects, which I think is the impression they're going for with the current title and cover photo. And the booklet is only offered in some of their kits, which is silly. Imagine if a company said "we're only going to provide instructions if you buy the upgraded version." It's like that, imo. 2. I just ruined my third piece trying to figure out how to do leather stitching with something - ANYTHING - in this kit. It came with a stitching groover. However, I just came to find out this tool requires a kind of tiny blade to be attached to it. The kit did not come with such a blade. So now I'll have to purchase that separately, apparently, and I've also wasted more than an hour worth of work screwing up this piece. I just think it's stupid to provide a stitching groover with no blade, in a kit with a million other things large and small... why couldn't you include that tiny, tiny blade? SMH. Overall, this kit was probably a decent deal for a near-total beginner. I'd give it 5 stars if it didn't have these two issues, especially the second one. Edit: Upon further study, I think the "blade" I'm hearing about is maybe not really a blade per se, but rather just a teeny tiny edge of a hole that requires ultra precise positioning to use. So maybe it did come with the so-called blade, but the device is hella confusing imo. I recommend they add actual instructions on how to use the blade, because it is completely incomprehensible for beginners. I mean, I *did* notice this hole had a sharp edge and attempted to use is as the groover at first, only it didn't work at all. I also read somewhere that this is the most basic and worst quality of groovers, so I might just buy a whole new groover which is at least like $9 on Amazon. Do you really want the worst quality tool for something that requires perfection to even use?
