A remote that works!
When your cable service is installed, Time-Warner gives you a used, old remote in the hope that you will live with it until it fails completely. Thank you, Time-Warner. Our remote worked okay for one year, then the commonly used buttons, like "'Enter", and "Mute" started to fail to make contact. You had to slam those buttons down hard to make them work. After 3 years, the remote is useless. No, Time-Warner, it's not the batteries, it's your stupid, worn-out remote. Time-Warner says, bring your old remote down to the equipment exchange office, stand in line for an unknown amount of time, and we will give you a different, old remote. No thank you Time-Warner. This remote works beautifully. I assume we will continue to pay for a remote that does not work, but what do you expect from a monopoly?

The remote was packaged nicely and came with instructions for programming. However, after contacting Time Warner Cable, I learned that it will not work with our cable/dvr box because it needs to be "unlocked" in order to be programmed correctly.

Wrong Remotes Sent
This product specifies on the Amazon page that it is for devices that require a 1056B03 model remote and will not work with a device that requires a 1056B01 remote model: "preprogrammed to operate the cable box (converter) provided by your cable system THAT REQUIRES A 1056B03 REMOTE MODEL ONLY WILL NOT WORK WITH DEVICE THAT REQUIRE A 1056B01"But I was sent two 1056B01 model remotes. I wasted hours trying to get them to work. I have used these remotes for many years, but the ones I have that work are 1056B03s. The 1056B01s I was sent won't work with my cable boxes.

It would not program to my TWC Cisco DVR Box The manual do Not list a code for a Cisco Cable Box or DVR. The remote simply will not program to operate the cisco cable box. When I made the purchase I got the impression that it would auto set to the box and all I had to do would be to program it to the tv and other devices.

Great replacement remote when fast forward or volume go out..
Its a very close match to Brighthouse's old unit. (same keys, different laminate)..Oddly, I got 2 remotes, and the other one was very different.. never tried it.
